Thanks to the early screening we reported on earlier this week, I just got back from seeing The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, and the short and sweet was that it was a blast. I obviously don't want to ruin things for anyone, so I'm not going to give away any plot details, but if you'd like to hear my initial thoughts after my first watch of the film, come read on!

My opinions about the previous films couldn't be closer to the first paragraphs of the review. Good to know my expectations for this one will be met, then (except the BIONICLE part. Bummer).
Now, if anyone who has seen Bumblebee can please help me with this: is it worth watching at this point, or can I wait some more until it's on PPV and direct my family's theatre budget to this one instead?

For me it's hard to judge the first against the second and come out with either one at a clear advantage. Any drawbacks of this one feel like they're made up for by a less male-centered narrative and some amazing musical numbers.
