IC:

"The mission failed sir, but I'm tracking our man now. I'm with some people who need medical assistance after Mutants ran them out. Everyone in the squad is dead sir. I'm the only one alive. Explosions killed Rockowl and his men. One hit me, but threw me a couple of feet away."

Just saying that he's the only one alive made something crawl down his spine.

Let me get on my admin fedora here...

IC

[union NPC - Veteran Guardian Myles]

The line was quiet for a moment. The Veteran Guardian was thinking.

-{Where are you, soldier? We've triangulated your position to be just outside the Badlands. What in god's name are you doing down there?}- There was another pause and the commanding officer collected himself. -{The ruins of San Antonio are two things, both highly irradiated and extremely dangerous. If the rads don't kill you, the muties will. You say the merchant is taking refuge there? We may need to call in the Brotherhood.}-

-{We'll send down aid, Defender. How many in need of assistance?}-

IC:

"I'm in the ruins of the city of Kyle, and yes sir. I have suspicion to believe that he is hiding in the ruins of San Antonio since his tracks lead here to Kyle. They keep on going, but these people here were gunned down." He stops to count the masses. "Thirty or more people are in need of medical attention. I saw forty to be safe and not make some random estimate that's low."

(Blake Raynkin)

Blake nodded his head to the colonel, and then walked out to the medical tent where the VIP was. To the NCR, he might not be someone important, but to Blake, he was a VIP to be treated well.

War...war never changes.

We crawl, on our knees for you,
under, a sky no longer blue,
we sweat, all day long for you.

But we sow, seeds to see us though,
cause sometimes dreams just don't come true,
we wait, to reap what we are due.

IC

[brotherhood NPC - Head Paladin Rhombus]

A whine hissed into Dixie's helmet. It was unfamiliar.

-{Hawkins!}- The familiar voice of the Head Paladin barked into her headset. -{Thank god we were able to find you. Your entire team is silent, and only one of the most basic radio functions still works in your helmet. Funny thing though, it's basic enough to be detected by anything but this frequency was retired before the war. Nobody who's worth talking to would be listening in. Having said that, I do not want you using this comm link again. You are near the ruins of a settlement known as Kyle. It's inhabitants have been exterminated by the Super Mutants who live in the nearby Badlands. Hidden in Kyle are a few dozen Church refugees and a Union Defender. You are to locate them and assist in any way you can until morning, when a full team should arrive to relieve you. Clear?}-

[NCR NPC - Colonel Jericho]

The Colonel glanced at the Ghoul, back at Hanlon, then at the tent flap the mercenary had just disappeared behind. "Tell you what, Lieutenant. I'm going to debrief Ranger Hanlon first. In the meantime, I want you to stick tight with that merc there. I don't like hiring walk-ins, but the Union will have our hide if we're holding a citizen or having him escorted by NCR soldiers. Until they decide to leave, stick to him like glue and determine if he can be trusted. Understood?"

OOC: I'm going to be inactive for a few days, here. Lone, Chronicler, I'm giving you two shared control of the civilian. You can share him, or give him to one and let him do it. I'll even let you name him. :)

(IC - Dixie) "Fantastic, sir," Dixie muttered bitterly. "The rest of my patrol... got hit by an ambush. Probably the same Super Mutants that cleared out this town. I barely made it out alive; armor's dinged up something awful, though. Think I took out most of the brutes, but if there's more in the area... well, here's hoping at least one of those wastelanders has enough brain cells to work a firearm. Hawk out."

Dixie grumbled a few choice words under her breath. Defending the people of the Texan Union from Mutant attacks was part of their agreement, but that didn't mean Dixie had to like it. They needed to be out scouring the wastes to find and guard pre-war knowledge, technology, and weapons, not risking their lives to save some flock of simple-minded hicks dumb enough to wander out into a desert filled with monsters and get in over their head. But nonetheless, Dixie did have to concede she herself was presently alone in said desert, and there was such a thing as safety in numbers. She drew her rifle and held it at her hip, slowly moving out into the ruins. First things first, she still had to actually find these wastelanders...

(IC - Nil) "Yessir. Stick to him like glue, understood," Nil said with a brief salute, and promptly made himself scarce from the tent.

Slinging his gun across his back, Nil marched his way across the NCR camp, whistling the tune that blasted private with his radio had managed to get stuck in his head. He caught up with the freelancer just as he was about to step into the medical tent.

"Hey, merc! Yeah, you there!" Nil called out to him as he approached. "The pencil-pushers assigned me to keep an eye on you. Y'know, just make sure you don't steal any office supplies or something. Don't worry 'bout it too much; long as you're on the level, I don't expect we'll have any problems."

Seeing the ghoul walk in, and here his orders Blake smiled. "I was hoping on that. It would be a little sad if they din't put someone to watch over me." Blake said.

Good morning wastelanders! This is Three Dog, bow wow.

IC

[NCR NPC - Civilian contact]

He took about three steps in every different direction before turning back to his guard and the ghoul, and raised an eyebrow, almost defeated. The Colonel had regrettably forgot to inform him on where the medical tent was. So, where is it? His eyes asked.

[Kyle NPC - Meg]

Meg looked up from her work, then back at the Walker who was mucking up her survivalist efforts. "We're about as fine as we were before you went to sleep." She muttered. "I got into contact with a Brotherhood Paladin on an older frequency. None of these radios Franklin made can handle direct lines, but one could pick up a public one. We're having a Paladin meet up with us shortly. You want to head to the surface and wait for her?"

Seeing the contact looking like he was lost, Blake turned to the ghoul. "I take it you know where the medical tent is? wouldn't be surprised if you had to bring back a few rookies that stepped out of line."

OOC: Man has this place gone down the drain

IC:

Rick came up from the man hole and ran to the nearest building. He took to the shadows and stayed there to 'hide' from the mutants and snipe them out if any cam near the manhole. He cannot afford to let one life get lost, but also he must look out for the caravan that they are sending.
