You should see the stars tonight
How they shimmered, shined so bright
Against the black they look so white
Coming down from such a height
To reach me now
Reach me now
You should see the moon in flight
Cuttin' cross the misty night
Softly dancing in sunshine
Reflections of its light
Reach me now
You reach me now
And how could such a thing
Shine its light on me
And make everything
Beautiful again
And you should feel the sun in spring
Comin' out after a rain
Suddenly all
My life
Has led me down the road that's so uncertain
Now I am left alone and I am broken
Tryin' to find my way
Tryin' to find the faith that's gone
This time
I know that You are holding all the answers
And I'm tired of losing hope and taking chances
On roads that never seem
To be the ones that bring me home
Give me a revelation
Show me what to do
'Cause I've been trying to find my way
I haven't got a clue
Tell me should I stay here
Or do I need to move
Give me a revelatio
Notice: The subject matter of this blog entry may need to be interpreted by parents for younger audiences.
I've finished the course.
Tonight was the rehearsal & dinner. Great fun. Made a complete cool dude of myself as per usual & Amanda bailed me out. Got to take my bride home, and the drive ended most well.
(Side note: We missed you tonight, DV, but we understand, really. I'll have something for you in 2010.)
Tomorrow is my wedding day.
Tomorrow is my wedding day, and I, l
There's a saying in Louisiana that people in New Orleans vote early & vote often.
I haven't learned anything about this "voting often", but I did vote early this time around.
In the off chance that it would influence anyone's vote (which it SHOULDN'T: You were the one paying attention the last 10 months. You were the one weighing everything you heard said by and about the candidates. You formed your own opinion on this landmark election season.), From the outskirts of Chocolate City en
It took a good long while (18 months), but I finally got another phishing email to my work email account, one I'm not going to share here.
I give you the contents, with links disabled...
Seems important enough, but upon opening the nuts & bolts of the message (closely observing the pointed-at address in a web client, or selecting "View Source" in Outlook), one can see that oversized address in the middle of the document does not go to where it states.
Of course, I didn't need to
Found out who it was that viewed from Longville.
It was one of my mates from college. His DSL IP says he's in Longville, even though the computer is in Moss Bluff (15 minutes south).
Anyway, that's not what this entry is about.
Today, I got to shake the hand of someone famous.
"Who?", you ask? Why, none other than Aaron Broussard, Jefferson Parish president.
Politics break: Your social studies teacher may have gone over this in class: Louisiana is one of two states with no counties.
The king is dead.
Long live the king.
Knowing José, I know this is not what he signed up for yesterday, but there you have it.
AB is a nice guy, really. Jovial is a very good word to describe him. He'll shake anyone's hand. Prototypical elected official.
Then again, perhaps in the same prototypical fashion, the lines between public servanthood and private business blurred, and these days, such nepotistic arrangements aren't acceptable.
The king is dead.
Long live the king.

I never knew how green my wife's thumb could be until we moved to Illinois.
One of the perks of the house, when we came to visit and house hunt, was a garden spot behind the garage in the back yard. Taking the advice of people to not plant before Mother's Day into account, we planted seeds and plants in early May. Then, we covered the plants for a week or two because we planted before Mother's Day.
All told, however, our plants made it. We planted 5 Better Boy (a readily available hybrid varie
No zany email today, sorry.

...it's the breathing that's taking all this work.
The model is unravelling. That's the only word for it.
I was supposed to finish improvement runs Monday. Instead, I might have calibration finished Monday.
In other words, I have 6 weeks of work and 2½ weeks in which to do it.
I'm out of time. It's all over.
Nothing short of a contract extension or divine intervention will save my hide.

Sorry to have taken so long to post this. Been busy with at TF2 cup competition for a server set I can't link to here because of their forums. Not to mention, 4 fantasy football leagues, and Ultima Online is a better use of my time than, say, staring at a keyboard.
I will say this, though: Go <AXE) ! Before congratulating me, make sure you've read the whole of the letter. There are important details.
Also, I may not be congratulated at all: I walked into this office the day after I was lai
I think I rolled my ankle at some point this morning. Or it might have been when I landed as I jumped backwards down three steps after a meeting upstairs. Either way, I don't feel like I can put any weight on my left ankle unless it (my leg) is absolutely vertical.
The meeting, by the way, was about my troubles at work: the prime firm now knows how far behind I am, and how it's impossible to catch up. And, how it's not my fault. While the EPA will have to wait on my computer to do its thing,
With this being my 47th blog entry (my favorite number, incidentally), I figured it was time I went ahead and divulged my favorites, official and non, of the approaching 600 blogs here.
By no means is this list complete. This is just what I found on the first 5 pages.

As I left the apartment to come to work this morning, I was approached by the husband of the elderly couple that lives in A303, two doors down from my apartment.
We both have our differences with the tenant between us, namely the late night entertaining she does, and the chihuahua-esque dog(s?) she's keeping there. However, he's more upset, as his front room is the only room between his bedroom and her apartment, whereas my bed is tucked further away.
Over the course of conversation (admitte
Well, I alluded to it earlier, and I even told GN when I picked up his Bounty Hunter over the weekend, but thar she be: my first set review, first time in the public spotlight on BZP.
Pity I don't have time to bask in it. Not if I'm going to finish this watershed deal so I can take tomorrow off to pack for Brickfest.
It's 1:40 PM. Office closes in 4 hours, and I have at least 6 hours of work left to do on this, and that's assuming it goes smoothly. Curse you, ArcMap 9, and your inability t
Might be before some of y'all's time, but that's supposed to come off like Jim Mora, Sr. (former New Orleans Saints and Indiannapolis Colts head coach) in a post-game news conference back in, I dunno, 1999 or something: Indy had just lost, and one of the reporters asked Mora about how this loss would affect their playoff chances. Mora then went on this incredulous rant as to how, after playing so poorly as they did that game, anyone would consider the NFL playoffs to be in their future.

Forgive me for not posting this 28 hours ago: I didn't have time before running out my brother's door in Baton Rouge.
Forgive me for not posting this 14 hours ago: I had a splitting headache (which hasn't quite gone away yet).
The PE exam was quite similar to the FE exam.
The ones I got, I feel supremely confident about. The ones that required books that I don't own, or the one I left in Metairie (The AASHTO Design of Pavement Structures (AASHTO Green Book)), I confess that I took blind s

Election Day today. I've not voted yet, but I will during lunch. LA House District 1, and another slew of amendments. Bobby Jindal still looks to win going away, so I want to turn my attention eastward.

PLEASE vote today.
PLEASE vote for anyone other than the incumbent, William Jefferson. Vote for any Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Socialist, whatever, just please fi

There are times when I get upset about not being able to blog what's on my mind, simply because I don't have time at work.
But today is not one of those days. Thanks to the AFL-CIO, today is a national holiday. So, I give you, all 15 of you (give or take), the full form of my weekend today.
Friday, my parents donated the old TV in the living room to me. It's not that old, but I have no cable TV service, so all I get to watch is white snow, and not the Team White Sno
