Day #2: Star Wars and City Advent Calendars

Welp, day 2. Again we'll start with City, but first that picture I promised of the fireman from yesterday:     Now, on day 2 we get a strange bit of pieces that make up a wonderful looking little chainsaw and log. It's a pretty neat design if I do say so, and the minifigures can hold it perfectly. I am a bit disappointed with the log, because as far as I know there is no tree bit to go on top, but I suppose that's not quite the point of the thing; more to be cutting for firewood. Still, though,

New Spinny/Days #14 and #15

Well... Today was my 8-year anniversary on BZP. I joined this day back in 2004, in my wee noobish years (I was 9, holy carp) and somehow stuck around through the madness and managed to have next to nothing to show for it (look at my post count haha).   So yeah... time to go admire the new spinny, and here's to another year, I suppose.   ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------     On day 14, we get a box and flames. I really hope this is an

Best of 2013

I was gonna do this yesterday but I forgot, and now everyone's beaten me to it   Oh well. Here's what I think were the best of... stuff... for this last year:     MUSIC: First off, because it's my prime passion, this year was fairly disappointing for me, as so many of my favourite artists released less than stellar albums. Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Volbeat, James LaBrie, Queensryche and others (while some were pretty good and others were awful) all were varying ranges of a letdown. However there

new macbook pro

at this point I'm considering giving up on future human relationships and just marrying this computer.   it is the greatest computer I have ever owned.   if I want something done it just... does it   no fuss, no adding additional programs, no crashing, no messing about in the terminal, or anything else that goes with windows or linux. I'd almost forgotten why I loved these things all those years ago

Sup

So here's my new bass in person, just in case there was any doubt of its existence.   Plays like a dream.   Anyway, it's been awhile so I just thought I'd spew my recent doings and goings on. First off I have my music college audition tomorrow morning (for bass instead of guitar as I had originally planned), so that's exciting/terrifying.   I also got a phone though seeing as I have only two contacts and have received a single phone call (from myself; testing my ringtone ) I'm not sure how neces

It finally arrived

My copy of the limited edition deluxe set of Coheed's "The Afterman" finally came yesterday. They had some problems with lyric printing and stuff, thus the delay. Still, it's here now, and good lord is it gorgeous!     Descension being spun a taste of the inside     So yeah, and after reading the story in the book, it's amazing how good it is. Complete with some important moral decisions and plot twists, it's a really fantastic read.   Really really recommend this album to anyone half interested

Star Trek KRE-O

So a few months ago I caved and bought some of these kre-o sets against my better judgement (because official TREK building sets???) and I forgot to mention it here. Was just messing around with them and thought I'd post 'em here with a little mini-review.     So yeah I ended up getting 3 sets, all small ones. From left to right: USS Kelvin, Klingon D-6 Battlecruiser, and USS Enterprise. They come on these funky little stands which light up when you squeeze the starfleet insignia base.   I noti

I made an art

this is like the first time I've drawn in over a year so I could use some feedback. here or in the topic, doesn't really matter, but many thanks either way!   click for picture of Gali   TOPIC   so yeah she's supposed to be swimming but the scanner cut off her feet so it looks like she's just walking with her hand out in the air for no reason.

Gah

I've been trying to vector this stupidly simple image for 5 hours and have gotten nowhere with any of the tutorials I've tried. How can it possibly be this hard? All I want to do is make an outline of a simple image and fill it black, so that it will be smooth and resizable.   But noooooooo

Name Suggestions?

Anyone got any? I'd like something along the line of my previous bad name puns (Xynlophone, Tornado Of Xinlos, My Little Xinlo, current name).   So yeah, any ideas?

Blog Contest #3 -- The Dark Dragon

Just because people seem interested now, I'm extending the deadline yet again. It's now... Februrary 14. Yes, Valentines day.   Well, this is a contest for my friend Iro: Winged Master Of Iron. He's writing a new epic to follow "Fractures", and is too lazy to build a set form of his Kraahkan Dragon. So, we want you guys to build it. The rules are as followed, straight from Iro:   - First prize is a role in Iro's upcoming short story -- Defeat. - It can be like Kardas, standing on two legs, or

Various Moving Picture Updates

Well, first off, I saw the Hunger Games on Saturday. I have to say, it was brilliantly done. Jennifer Lawrence is a perfect Katniss, and same with Hutcherson/Peeta. I also think they made Haymitch a bit more lovable, which I'm not sure yet how I feel about. But in all, it was really book-true, and captured the emotions really well (especially Rue's death). Finally a movie that really does the story justice.   Next, I watched the new MLP and Transformers Prime episodes. In the case of Ponies, I h

Day #11: Star Wars and City Advent Calendars

Day 11, a bit late because Clone Wars all day.     So, that's what the tires were for. I really should've seen that coming. However, either way, I was pretty stoked on this one - who doesn't love little go cart things? It's deceptively simple, using less pieces than that mini Naboo starfighter a few days back. But I quite like it. (FYI the tires from yesterday go on it; it doesn't come with its own).   --------------------------------------------------------------------     I have no idea wha

My New Guitar...

Well, Hi-lo! It's that time again, time for another blog entry! Yay! Now, for today's special, I shall be serving pictures of my (hopefully) New guitar!   Linky!   Now, It's not the greatest out there, as I don't have much cash. But it beats the one I have now. If there's anything wrong with it, (other than it's sheer awesomeness) please let me know. As I don't want a bad guitar.   ~LN~

Xbox 360

Ok, I hate them, yes, but I am considering to buy one. Mainly, because I can't find Rock Band 2 for PS2, and no other system has Star Trek legacy. plus, I think it'd be nice to have a newer system. How much do they cost?   ~X

Day # 5 & 6: Star Wars and City Advent Calendars

Okay, days 5 and six for city:     On day five we get... a brick wall. Better than stairs? You decide! It comes with an axe and what I assume is a fire extinguisher (though why is it yellow?). it's okay I suppose... btu what does this have to do with christmas? I mean with star wars it's hard, sure, nothing christmas-y there, but really... all this fire stuff is strange. On day six we get a much more seasonal minifig, a little kid with an abundance of snowballs. This really adds to the feel so
