The Avengers Sucked

The Avengers sucked. Not that it was bad in and of itself, but it's totally not what the hype is making it out to be. Plus, it's not even a superhero film, and all I got was this espionage nonsense. It's only redeeming feature was that it featured Christopher Lee.   Now let's see if if a title like this doesn't catch anyone's attention.   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Starbuck-Buck-Buck

"Starbuck doesn't act like a girl."   So said my sister halfway through the first episode of the Battlestar Galactica revival.   My thoughts: Says who?   No really, who says that her behavior isn't girly behavior? Obviously, there must be some standard that a person like my sister must compare Starbuck to in order to quantify her girliness and come up with a distinct measurement. Yet, who defined the standard for girliness? If I may take a moment to quote the ever-so-wise Kermit the Frog:   "

Dimensioneer

I dedicate my new lifetime premier membership to Dimensioneer. He's a cool guy, the poker-playing admin, the man with an awe-inspiring goatee, the inconceivable force that set into motion this dominion known as BZPower. And conveniently, he also happened to be hanging around when I decided to get up and finalize my decision to buy his finest product.   On a tangent, I love his name. Ever since I was six or seven, the concept of interdimensional travel has always fascinated me, and when I was

More Donuts

So I'm about to have play practice very soon, and I decided earlier this afternoon to go out and buy cookies and donuts, enough for everyone to have some. Now, the director's been criticizing the crew to death and giving them all a hard time. As a part of the cast, however, I realize that even though I agree very strongly with everything that the director has been saying, it is not my place to join in criticizing my peers. My role is to support everyone else. In the past, trust me, I have be

Serenity

This was a picture I drew up when I was a freshman. It's name at the time was "Serenity", which not creative of me, but on the other hand it did describe the exact impression that the art piece gave me. Meanwhile, I'm not a fan of going back and renaming portraits, and I try not to get too unusual with the names.   "Serenity" was created using India ink and a style known as cross hatching. My intention with the portrait was to catch a calm, serene image of an animal and emphasize it by provid

53 Things To Do Before A First Kiss

Before I post anything, I'd like to say that I'm not trying to be controversial with this list, nor am I trying to define anything. I so much as mentioned the list to my mother and she didn't want to read my thoughts because she thought I was trying to come up with some unnatural structure for relationships. I was not trying to accomplish that with this list, nor am I trying to explain exactly what it is I expect in a relationship. However, this list was fun to write since it put me into the

Elements Of My Narrative

In order to better understand what type of unique characteristics the style of my epic requires to be truer to itself, here is a list of basic narrative elements:   - The story is a left-to-right sequence of cause and effect, starting with the first cause and ending with the final effect. The manner in which a cause leads to an effect has to be very clear. - When one element of the story needs to be told, it is put into the story in the exact place where it happens chronologically. There will

I Brought The Donuts!

You know what? For once I brought the donuts to the lunch table and I shared! Who says that old dogs can't learn new tricks?   It's actually a very good feeling and I think I'll do it again next week. Though I might warn people not to be sharing just because it feels good. That leads into the thinking of committing to things not because they are right, but for some other reason. See the little trap there?   Back on topic: I have mixed feelings to everyone's reactions. On one hand, they wer

Bow Ties

Recently I bought off of Amazon.com a red bow tie and a white bow tie. Of course, they're also hand-tied, so they're not those little clip-on toys. Since I already have a lack tie, I'd say that my bow tie collection is officially underway. What I really need is a bow tie in school colors to really gain momentum.   And I also bought white suspenders. I already have black and red suspenders to go with the other two bow ties, so just to make sure I had a pair fr each tie I got these. They're a

Vote On My Cube!

The future of my V-Cube 7 is in your hands. The stickers are beginning to wear off and it won't be long before I must buy a new set from Cubesmith.com, and when that happens, I might as well start a custom color scheme. What we're looking at here is something that's quasi-grayscale. Below is a list of the colors that interest me, and it is up to you, yes you, to help me decide what color combination is the most aesthetically pleasing and stylish:   Grayscale set White Black Gray Tan Copper Go

Superclaws!

I just remembered something yesterday.   Back when I was five or six years old, I imagined that the main villain of my series, which I now call Death, would grow out his fingernails and scratch stuff. I don't know why I imagined fingernails instead of outright claws, but perhaps I was too young to think outside of the box. Or maybe that kind of looks extra creepy when the fingernails of a dark hooded figure suddenly grow.   Basically whatever he clawed at would explode, which to me was a prett

Halloween Concert

Today I dressed up as Inspector Gadget. He was the only thing to come to my mind since I hadn't planned anything ahead of time and I had to make do with the regular clothes that I already have. Fortunately, I buy some rather interesting clothes. Take, for instance, a cream colored fedora and trench coat. Even though the Inspector didn't wear one, I put on a bowtie because it gave the outfit the feel of a children's cartoon.   What was really cool was that everybody could get who I was. I kn

Twinkle Twinkle Aristotle

This poem came to mind when I was looking back at some old ideas that Aristotle had about the laws of motion. I decided that I would write a poem about it that could be sung to the tune of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", although if I were to ever make a video of it I'd make a split screen and add in a harmony to make it more interesting, because the tune is only interesting for one stanza. Meanwhile, if you happen to have the eleventh edition of Paul G. Hewitt's Conceptual Physics, this contai

Convenient Insanity

There's a fine line between sanity and insanity. If you're on the sane side, you might be a little more practical, but it's boring and you don't get a whole lot done. Yet, if you're insane, you might come up with some awesome solutions and yet it's kind of a dangerous place to be.   Then there's being right on the line. It's called conveniently insane.   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Impossible Sequels

There are certain movies that you simply cannot make sequels to. I can only imagine how bad these sequels would be.   Titanic 2: I once looked up Titanic on Google Image search and found a parody poster of this. Hardly any description is needed to advance the humor of this ridiculous idea. Although the poster did include the catch phrase "Jack is Back".   Schindler's List 2: The Alternative History of Minor Events that are Minutia Compared the Main Event: If it's a really good and noble movie

Rhetorical Errors

In my last entry I pointed out a difference between hypocrisy and logical inconsistencies. Interestingly enough, the example that I gave of a logical inconsistency was a rhetorical error of a rhetorical error. In other words, the presentation of the argument is wrong, although not necessarily the argument itself. This can come from making a bad analogy or a poor generalization or forgetting to clarify something. It' incredibly easy to make rhetorical errors that make you sound like you have

Me? Hypocrite?

Like all of us, I have been called a hypocrite. It's part of life. Both the accusations and the fact that I am a hypocrite. Everyone's a hypocrite somehow.   Still, what often nags me is the way that it gets used in debates. In my mind, hypocrisy is not the same thing as having flawed reasoning or an imperfect argument. That's what I call logical inconsistencies. What comes to my mind when using the word "hypocrite" is a person who preaches a belief without believing that it applies to the

Vader II

I first felt emotionally directed towards the that one special girl before I ever even saw her. I was friends with a guy, paralyzed, who happened to be her older brother. I cared a lot for him. Then I found out that he had a sibling, and I thought that whoever she was, she must be a very cool person, naturally, having grown up with him. Several months later my infatuation was in gear.   Once he graduated and wasn't around in school anymore, I found other reasons for liking her. She's a farm

Ask Kraggh

I'd like to thank Dokuma for the idea and for not putting a copyright on it. For this week's theme, there's really no choice, given the current events stirring at the hearts of the community. This is to be dedicated to BIONICLE.   Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

The End?

So I've heard that Bionicle is nearing an end. At first I thought this was just speculation, but then the context in which people began mentioning it began to sound much more firm, as if it was fact, not opinion.   There have been many times I've felt like I've been under a rock, but none of them compare to how I feel right now.   To make things clear, I can accept that Bionicle will end. I do not so much feel shocked as I do curious. Bionicle seems to be a successful product. I wonder what

Regarding Nukaya Cloud Fire

Okay, I'll admit that she's pretty spiff and we've been in some pretty nice conversations. And she looks like Sarah Palin, Tina Fey, and some other famous person. But that doesn't mean that I'll...   Okay, I will jump on the bandwagon. Nukaya is awesome. Everybody make blog entries about it. Now.   And I believe this aptly sums her up:     Your Honor, Emperor Kraggh

Orange Guard

Regarding the Bionicle Stars, I was considering buying them all, even though it would have meant a hefty burden on my wallet. Now, I don't think that will be quite necessary if I want to get Tahu to look perfect.   The one little peeve I had with Tahu was his sword hilt guard. It's the color of steel. The rest of the sword - indeed the rest of the set - comes in shades of orange and red. It seems out of place. Yes, the gold one would work much better. However, the set that comes with the g

Arsenic And Old Lace

The funniest thing happened. I was in a play. It showed twice. And the thing is, I still haven't seen the whole thing.   Nearly a week ago, the play Arsenic and Old Lace played in my school. My part was Mr. Witherspoon, the guy who comes in at the end to take Teddy away, and then dies (presumably). I have fun improvising that part when both nights there was a technicality on set where things weren't quite the way they were supposed to.   Anyways, I refrained from doing it, I really did, but
