Another Track Meet

Well, I going to say it was a success. My knee hurt a little bit during my warm up, but it wasn't anywhere as bad on Monday. The run went decently with a 2:42. My knee felt fine both during and after the run so that's a relief. It doesn't feel all the way better now, but I'll probably try running during practices again next week. More ice and cross-training this weekend though.   The rest of the meet was also pretty good, one of our freshmen had PR and lettered with a 4:52 in the 1600 M an

Blog Overhaul

I have now completed my blog overhaul. Going with the the theme of my current name it is now "The Minifig Cave". I also have an image set to go with it.   My Blog Roll up in the corner is also done, no more "Coming Soon". To go along with that I also have created my first approval and I will give it to a select few blogs pretty soon. My avatar has also been updated from the old Nightfall Incident avatar.   Comments?

It Snowed, Aka, Where Did Fall Go?

Yeah, it was snowing this morning. I think the total ended up being a couple of inches.   I look out my window and every tree in my yard still has most or all of it's leaves. I haven't raked the yard once yet this year. It's like it jumped from the nice warm summer to a short cool period to a cold winter. At least the ground isn't cold enough yet for it to accumulate on the driveway so I don't have shovel.   On a side note, my dad bought a new router so my family has internet access again.

Rummage Sales

So today I went to a couple of rummage sales. Actually only one was a rummage sale, the second was a moving sale.   Anyway, the rummage sale was put on by my church. They usually have two a year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall. At first I didn't find anything too terribly interesting. They didn't have any LEGO, that's usually the first thing I check for at any sales. After that I went to look at the pictures and picture frames. I'm alway looking for cheap pictures, either actually

The End Of Summer

Well, in ten days my summer officially ends. Classes start for the fall semester and I'll be swamped with homework and cross country practice.   It sort of feels like this summer has been a washout. But that's not really true. I've done a lot of stuff, most of it wasn't stuff I was really planning on doing though. I had my trip to DC and the National Scout Jamboree. I also had a long vacation at my grandparents cabin over the week of the 4th of July.   I didn't really get stuff done tha

Blog Update

I'm putting together a Blog roll of different BZPower blogs I regularly read and enjoy.   I also changed the Blog name to T.N.L.C.S.B. (Took Nothing, Left Comment, Signed Blog), which since you probably didn't catch it is a play off of the geocaching term TNLNSL (Took Nothing, Left Nothing, Signed Log). I might change it again but that's what it's at now.

Amazon Order Arrived

My Amazon order arrived earlier today while I was at piano lessons. It consisted of the LEGO City Advent Calender and the Ocean Eyes Owl City Album. I'm pretty impressed with the speed that it got here. I opted for the free shipping and the initial ship date was yesterday. It shipped a lot sooner though and it got here today.   I'm going to be doing a comic thing with the Advent Calender. I.m not sure how it will work though since I'm torn whether I should open the doors one day at a time

First Run Of The Season

I went for my first run of the season today. I was testing the waters, both figuratively and literally.   I think it went pretty I'm no where near the shape I was in at the end of last year but I'm still in a lot better shape then the beginning of last year.   I ended up going through a puddle. I thought I would be able to get through it. Turns out it was deeper then I thought so my shoes are soaked. Hopefully they'll be reasonably dry by the end of this week.   The two things I need most

Somewhat Better

I seem to be mostly better now. No fever and I have most of my energy back.   It looks like the 5k will be a go. I'll have to start running again tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully the week of rest I've given my legs from running will do some good for my shin splints. Otherwise I may have to take an even longer break.

Track

Track practice starts Monday morning. I'm not really looking forward to it but I'm doing it because I had a reasonably good time in it last year and It will make getting ready for the World Scout Jamboree a lot easier.   I'm probably going to be doing the 800 M again this year. Last year my best time was 4 Min 49 Sec. I hope to improve on that a bit. 2:25 is probably a reasonable goal for my last race. Who knows I may do even better then that. Relative Chaos

Grey Day

It seemed like it was a grey day out today. If I didn't have such a full schedule, I probably would have curled up with a blanket and a good book. As it was I pulled out a notebook and did a little writing during my open hour this morning.   I want to write something, but I'm not sure where to start. I have some ideas and I've put some stuff down on paper, but it seems like I get stuck after a couple of pages. I wanted to do something for the Short Stories forum, but Bioncle writing really

No Lego Universe

I guess I won't be getting LEGO Universe for a while. Originally I had planned on purchasing it this month so I could spend my free month playing over winter break, but it looks like LEGO Shop has changed their terms of use so you have to 18. That's a problem because I won't be 18 until the end of December, and I've tied my LEGO VIP account to one of my LEGO Club accounts.   I'm not going to spend $40 on something from LEGO and then lose those 40 points. I guess it will probably be summer be

Christmas Shopping

Normally I don't get caught up in all the Black Friday shopping madness, however this year I've managed to complete all my Christmas shopping. I ordered my mom's and my brother's presents off of amazon, and I picked up a CD for my dad this morning.   It's probably been five or six years since I've actually gone shopping on Black Friday, but my brother and I went up to Target at about 7:30. We got pretty lucky, since my brother was able to snag the second-to-last Nerf Raider that they had on s

Computer Science Class

I guess this is essentially my "sleeper" class. Up until yesterday, I probably could have slept through most of the classes. None of the stuff we covered up until that point was new to me. Maybe now it get a little more interesting. We're starting on Java Script so that should be a little bit useful at some point.   We got start building our web pages today. My professor is going to get introduced to LEGO when she checks mine, as I linked to a couple of LEGO blogs, and my Brickshelf.   Al

Final Jamboree Notes

Thursday night is when I'm leaving for Washington DC and the Jamboree. At that point there will be no way to contact me until after I arrive at the Jamboree on July 26th. I will also be gone from BZPower the entire time of this trip.   I will be turning my personal messager off-line shortly before I leave on Thursday afternoon. At that point the only way to contact me will be through the e-mail me option on my profile. I would just give out my e-mail address, but my dad had to have this won

Computer Crash

I rather upset right now. When I went to start up my computer earlier this morning it came up with an error. One of the files it needs to start up is either missing or corrupted. Now I have to wait for my dad to get to night to try and fix it.   I can't get on AIM ( which isn't a great loss) and I can't use FireFox. I'm stuck with IE that is the only thing on all the other computers. It's really disapointing. I already miss the built in spell checker.
