I finished my last final of the semester yesterday around 3 PM which means that winter break is finally here. This past semester was crazy busy and it didn't give a lot of time to do much of anything besides school work. Grades won't be in for another week, but I feel like I did pretty well in most of my classes this semester. The grades may not be quite as good as the previous few semesters, but at this point I'm not hugely concerned. Now that classes are done I have a little bit of time to r
...is my birthday. I'm not sure what I'm going to be getting. If the pattern for past birthdays holds it probably won't be anything spectacular. I think three years ago I got a LEGO NXT set and then I had sort of an off year. Last year I got a camera.
I"ll probably end up waiting until Tomorrow night to find out though. It's a weekend though so I might be able to convince my parents to let me open my presents after lunch.

I picked up the Heat Vision Rahkshi earlier today. I don't like it as much as I thought I would.
For some reason when I first pulled it out of the container it struck me as orange. After I compared it to Mata Nui it still looked orange but I could tell it was yellow. Oddly enough, I never thought Mata Nui was orange.
My birthday present arrived in the mail yesterday. It turns out it's a new Laptop, and a high powered one at that. I was going to buy myself one at some point this summer but now I don't have to. I wasn't even going to buy one this powerful.
It's an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC, or at least that's what the label says. This is probably one of the largest laptops you can buy. It's even too big for the bag I got from my dad a couple of months ago.

The first track practice of the season was today. Appearently I wasn't technically suppose to practice. The coach let me practice anyway though. That should be resolved tomorrow though.
I think it's going to be a good year. Even through I'm not in the greatest shape right now, I'm still in a lot better shape then I was at the start of the last two seasons. I think for this year I stat running the mile. Previously I've only done the 800m.
So, for those of you who have read some of my past entries, I've been biking on and off to my classes. The times I didn't bike one of my parents ended driving me.
Anyway to start off whenever I bike I wear a helmet. Not usually, always, I actually turned around and went back to the house one time because I somehow forgot my helmet. This is due to two things, one of the them is that I did a persuasive speech for speech class a number of years ago advocating wearing your helmet when biking.
My Eagle Board of Review was last night. The board talk to me for a while and then they voted. They unanimously approved. Now National just needs to approve it and it will be official. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. All three of the board members were really nice and they didn't really ask any really hard questions.
After being the high 30's for the last week it has finally cooled down again and is hovering around zero outside. The windchill really isn't helping either.
I've also come to the conclusion that I've been stressing out way too much over the two papers that are going to be due soon. That being said I won't be on too much for a while as I going to be devoting more time to school matters. I'll still be on here to make ocasional posts, but not as much browsing as previously.

On sunday I had to go to the copy store to get copies of the program for my troop's court of honor. While I was there I got the poster that was released recently printed out.
Personally I would have like it a little bigger. Right now I have it as a 11x17. The only problem was that there was an almost $20 difference in price between the size I got and the next largest size. It would have also been about 24 hours before I could have gotten it.

For the last couple of weeks my house has slowly been invaded by yellow jackets.
We have a nest in the corner of the house near the front door. Last night we had someone take part of the siding off and there was this huge hole in the foundation where they were getting in and out. We foamed it near the hole but I'm not sure how much good that did since the actual nest is probably pretty far into the foundation.

When I went into work today I was told that next week will be my last week on job. That's not as bad as it sounds though. I'm not losing my job because I did a terrible job but because there isn't any work for me to do. I guess now the sour economy has finally hit home.
My boss said he would be writing an a letter of recommendation, and if things ever pick up they would look at rehiring me. So that's probably one
I'm going to be heading up to my grandparents cabin for my family's annual 4th of July trip. Normally we would have already made a couple of trips up there, but because my siblings decided they had to do organized sports this summer that hasn't happened.
It should be a fun time. We'll probably go swimming almost every day. I also hope to make the trip to clean up the rest of the island geocaches I hven't found. I also want to take a trip to a nearby state park, which for some odd reason,
When I got home from my vacation there was a message on my answering machine from the camp I spent most of my summer at.
It turns out that they didn't have enough people to fill out a special program they're running again this year. Since I was a CIT last year they offered to let me participate for free. The program is all things emergency preparedness. It should be a good time. I'm getting Red Cross CPR and Wilderness First Aid. I'm also getting a couple of merit badges.

I've been slowly cleaning my room over the last two days. I really want to get all the way done this time. Every time I start I get half to three quarters done and then I stop. I have to disassemble all of my current LEGO creations so I can get my LEGO Bricks put away. I also have a lot of stuff lying around on the floor that I have to find space for. I cleaned up the area (outside of my room) that I was using for school work and I found my boyscout folder I have been missing for the longes
My family's current router died over the last two days. Yesterday morning our internet died, as usually we blamed it on our (un)reliable internet service. After trying to fix our internet connection with their tech support which failed, my dad ended up resetting the router last night. All was well until about 9:00 A.M. this morning. The internet went out again. After bypassing the router my dad was able to get connected on his laptop.

My brother had his birthday party today. He got the Thunder Raceway LEGO set. After looking at it I'm not to excited so I'll probably add it to my sets waiting to be reviewed along with the two sets I got yesterday.
Monday night My boy scout troop is having a hobby fair. I'm going to be doing a display on LEGO. I'm almost finished building the display. I'll probably post pictures of it sometime next week.
One more week until I have to go back to class. This should be a fun semester. I'm taking Introduction to Rhetorical and Analytical Writing, which probably won't be the funnest class. I can write, and both my papers from last year got pretty good grades, but I don't have fun doing it.
That's balanced out though by the fact I'm taking Trigonometry and Introduction to the Engineering. Both of those are going to be pretty fun. This will probably be the last fun semester for a while though,
Apparently the weather where I live didn't get the memo that it's now spring.
Where I live we got about 7 inches of snow. It snowed about 5 inches yesterday morning. Then it rained in the afternoon. Then it snowed again this morning. Hopefully it melts quickly because I don't want to go slushing through muck on Saturday when I go Geocaching.
So yesterday my Boy Scout Council had a centennial celebration as a fundraiser for the people going to the Jamboree.
We had a rib dinner as the main fundraiser. I helped with the first cooking on Tuesday morning. They then grilled them and added sauce last night and they were good. I'm not sure how many tickets they sold but they must have had a bunch of people go through. My library finally purchased The Small House Book by Jay Shafer, which is weird, because they originally told me it wasn't available to purchase. I'm not going to complain though. =P
I'm starting to read through it and there is some interesting stuff in it. I like most of the houses Jay has designed, although I don't think I would be able to live, long term, in one of his tiny houses. I would have go with one of his small houses. 250 to 900 sq. ft is appealing to me though. Enough room
