I Beat Mass Effect

Though the reasons that I disliked the game before still stand, I could tolerate them a lot better. And I ended up really enjoying it. I'd like to get the second sometime. But before that, I want to beat it again. That will have to wait however, as New Vegas is out in 2 days, and that will be sucking up all my time.   edit: actually i'll probably start the next playthrough for something to do ALSO downloading the ME2 demo so i can get a feel for what it's like

Bulletstorm

I'm contemplating getting it, but it's a real on-the-fence dilemma. I can't make up my mind. Has anyone played and, and what do you think of it?

it was pretty cool I saw it in 3D; the 3D was very well done, and made me jump a few times.

Ravenholm

So I've been re-playing HL2 now that it has Steam achievements, and today I got to Ravenholm. I thought, "Oh man, I hate Ravenholm." But then I thought, "Erik, you've played through Ravenholm so many times it shouldn't affect you anymore."   I was wrong. Ravenholm still gives me the creeps. And now I'm at the mine part which is just as bad.   But once I get out, the game just gets better and better.

Skyrim Adventure, Part 28: In Which I Become A Homicide Detective

I went after the staff that Enthir wanted. When I got to the cave, I fought a named dragon. He was pretty weak. Inside I found myself fighting many powerful mages. One point in particular was very tough because it was a bottleneck that essentially funneled me into their attacks. It worked the other way as well, but considering it was 4 against 1, staying in the open led to a quick death. In the final chamber I learned the third word of Fire Breath. I returned the staff and was given a deformed S

Brotherhood And Bulletstorm

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood was GREAT, though I didn't like it near the end where you were jumping through time, trying to kill Cesare. It made the ending feel so rushed. I really liked the addition of the Brotherhood; managing Assassins is a nifty feature, and I love calling them in during a battle. I'm really going to miss Ezio when AC3 rolls around, he's my favorite videogame protagonist.   Bulletstorm (which I got for $15) was great as well. The weapons were really great; they provided som

Skyrim Adventure, Part 4: In Which I Become A Zombie Slayer

On my way back to Whiterun I found a cave full of bandits. Killed 'em all, easy-peasy. I returned to Whiterun and bought the firebolt spell (THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR) and set out with a Companion in search of a piece of sword. We arrived to find the area full of ZOMBIES. After fighting our way through, I get myself trapped in a room, and my pal is surrounded by Silver Hand. I expected him to get killed, and finding myself being blamed for it when I returned. Nope. Instead he goes all W

All the cool games that were supposed to come out this year (e.g. Portal 2, Brink) have been delayed to 2011.   >:|

Skyrim Adventure, Part 36: In Which I Unleash An Ancient Evil

I continued working on my misc quests. I set out on a bounty for a dragon. I killed it and learned the second word of Dismay from the Wall. Next I headed into a dungeon and was greeted by a ghost. He told me he was containing a powerful evil, but was growing weak. I said I'd help eliminate it once and for all, and went deeper into the complex, searching for the keys to unleash it. The keys ended up being bottles of blood. We opened up the crypt; the evil was another Dragon Priest. I killed him a

Literary Adventure

I went and saw Phantom Menace in 3D with my friend Josh today Afterwards we stopped in Barnes and Noble so he could get someone a birthday gift. While there, I decided to look for Icarus Effect, a novel about some characters from Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I was pretty indifferent about it; I mean, sure, I'd like to read it, but I wasn't going out of my way to do so. I figured if I saw it right in front of me, that would be incentive enough to buy it. After searching through the Sci-fi section,

Skyrim, And Other Video Games

I started Skyrim today. It's 4:30 AM, I'm tired and have a headache, so I'm gonna keep this short and make a complete entry later on today. long story short: SKYRIM SUCKS (or does it???)   Stay tuned for the next exciting entry in Haz's Skyrim Adventure!     in other news I beat LA Noire; LOVE it sometime soon I'll post a wrap up entry talking about my holiday season video game purchases and my thoughts on them (SPOILER ALERT: they're great) maybe even talk about my personal GOTYs, who knows???

Skyrim Adventure, Part 7: In Which I Am The Law

I found the Redgaurd women. She pulled a knife on me. Not many poeple pull a knife on me and live, but I remained calm, and let her talk. She told me that the Alik'r after her are assassins. I agreed to kill them. I returned to the cave from Part 4, the bandits had respawned. They were weaker than I remember; or rather, I'm stronger. I made it to the final room without any problems and spoke to the Alik'r leader. He told me she was wanted for treason. I didn't know who to believe, but I told him

Skyrim Adventure, Part 13: In Which I Disrespect Nature

alternative title: In Which I Rescue the Princess   As I said last entry, I stopped by Whiterun. While there I picked up a new spell book: Fireball (any previous mentions of Fireball were actually Firebolt, sorry for any confusion). HOLY MOLY EXPLOSIVE FIREBALLS THIS IS AWESOME I returned to the location closest to my search for the Sybil and continued on my way. I wasn't sidetracked any more; upon arriving there was some sort of argument between the villagers and Silver-Bloods. After the Silver

Wisdom Teeth: 1 Week Later

The good news is that my mouth don't hurt anymore, and only one location is swollen yet. Also, I can eat solid food again!   The bad news is I feel something sharp sticking out of my gums, which could be a bone shard. I had a checkup today and the doctor didn't notice anything, causing my mom to suspect that whatever it is was brought about by my chewing a lot today. She'll be calling tomorrow to make an appointment about it, granted that it doesn't come out before then. It's soooooo freaky.

Skyrim Adventure, Part 31: In Which I Do A Whole Lotta Thieving

I decided to wrap up a few misc quests. First I went to Yngvild to find the ravings of a mad Necromancer. I fought through some ghosts and Draugr. I found several of his journals along the way. He was sitting on a throne in the final room with a ghost next to him. I killed him and left with his four journals in my possession Next I went to Yngol Barrow with a Dragon Claw I had gotten long ago. There were strange bluish orbs that followed me around. Nothing ever happened with them and they were n

Skyrim Adventure, Part 1: In Which I Give Up...?

as stated in my previous entry, here is a more in-depth entry about my first forray into Skyrim   OH YEAH RIDING IN A CART Time to make a character, ok, here we go. So I read through the differing aspectcs of the races. I'd like to do a sneaky archer playthrough, but I'm afraid doing so on my first playthrough would make me miss things. Like, I'd be too focused on sneaking I wouldn't explore to the fullest. I settle on an Imperial for combat and magic. OH YEAH GONNA GET DECAPITATED So I'm runnin
