As if to top off my crummy day, I have to deal with all the people who got Halo: Reach -- which is the one game that made me want to trade in my 360.
Gah. Have fun with it, people; I'll have to wait a while before I can start playing.
(Also, no, I haven't gotten my preordered copy of A Thousand Suns yet -- fail)
A Thousand Suns (Linkin Park album) Halo: Reach (video game (which singlehandedly made me want an Xbox 360, just so I could play it)) Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (DVD) some Barbie movie I don't care about (DVD) *conspiracy theory*
I got a note from my grandma today, containing an ad that showcased a short stories contest judged by British author Jeffrey Archer (for whom the contest is named after). What really excited me was the grand prize ... a publishing contract with St. Martin's Press, which is what any aspiring author wants to have.
Naturally, I wanted to enter, and I was working on what would've been my entry (incidentally sweeping the Summer Library Olympics from my mind) when my mom and I looked up the contest
SS Contest: 1: Tolkien
2: Kumata Nuva
3: Grant-Sud
Comedies Contest: 1: Snoopy82
2: Lewa0111
3: Gerlicky
Just the epics contest left to learn about the winners ... congrats, winners and Honorable Mentions! (Check the Olympics topic for those )
(And yes, I am a tad irritated that I didn't win anything in the SS portion -- the only one I entered in -- but oh well. There's always next time ...)
No, I'm not talking about school per se (though its' only a matter of time before my nerves are ground up enough for that ...); it's more about Zen.
Zen started middle school on Tuesday, which means he's not going to the YMCA in the morning. Since we're not close enough to him to ride to school, I have to escort him to the back path to his new school, and then take an alternative route to my high school.
The walking isn't bad, but it's hauling Zen out the door that's driving me nuts. He's
This time I'm not gonna spazz out over it; I'm pretty much reconciled to it.
Anyway, my mom and brother went bowling today -- I'm a bit rusty, since the only bowling I do nowadays is on the Wii -- but I turn out to be pretty good still. Zen, unfortunately, got frustrated with himself since he kept getting gutter balls and took it out on us (temper tantrum; nothing new with him but it does get annoying), which cost us lunch at the Rock.
Well, at any rate, I managed to get home and finish
I'm just hoping the MIA Judges for the Summer Library Olympics show up soon and the winner for the SS section is announced before I go back to school -- then I can stop torturing myself with the mental possiblity of winning first place.
So, with help from the awesome Valenti, I managed to track down the official video that was released today. Weird, but cool, so I'm not complaining.
I'd just like to know how they were able to sing in the colored-powder-stuff and smoke, since according to the "Making Of" video, the powder was not supposed to be inhaled.
Here's a factoid for you: Friday is the sacred day of the Norse goddess Freya (Friday is literally "Freya's Day"), and her sacred number is 13. Therefore, back in the day, Friday the 13th was an especially sacred day.
Of course, now everyone associates it with psychopaths and bad luck. However, my best days are on Fridays, and my own lucky number is 13, so this should be interesting. B)
On a completely unrelated note, all of my writing, including (but not limited to) Wings and HitM, is on
So my mom was home today (she's very much improved from Day One of her accident, though she's still really sore), and spent most of the afternoon watching TV with me -- more specifically, Animal Planet. We watched three straight episodes of Animal Cops, and Mom cringed so often at some of the horrible conditions the animals were in I was surprised she didn't just start crying. Not to say I'm cold-hearted, though -- it's terrible how brutal humans can be to animals. =(
But maybe I should lay o
I think there are two major ones in my life: The "Get-Inferna-to-start-looking-at-colleges-like-a-normal-high-school-junior" conspiracy (created by my parents and school district) The "Get-Inferna-addicted-to-caffine-like-a-normal-person" conspiracy (orchastrated by everyone I know) (I mean, seriously -- my friends all seem to drink those Monster and Rockstar things; I can literally smell the caffine coming from the opening of those cans)
If other events had not occured, I would be writing about Vampires Suck (which is, from what I could gather, a spoof of Twilight); however, other events have occured, so there you are.
Anyway, my mom had a little accident while out running and seems to have done something to her hamstring, since she can't move her leg without pain. Thankfully, she managed to hobble back home from the site of her tumble (amazingly, no passersby stopped to help her -- thanks for nothing ) and I helped her showe
I have two weeks and three days until I officially become a High School Junior.
Amazingly, my response to all this is 'meh'. This summer was rather boring. -.-
So while BZP was down, I was having fun doing other things (I'm actually starting to get a life. It's a freaky concept, I know).
Thing One: Listening to Linkin Park's new single "The Catalyst". Seriously, it's been less than three days and I'm head over heels in love with that song.
Thing Two: While I'm on the subject of "The Catalyst", I happened to notice that the release date for "A Thousand Suns" (the new LP album) is on the same day as the release of Halo: Reach. It's probably a coi
So I was at my last session of fencing camp a couple hours ago, and during our break between pools, me and some of my fellow campers were discussing stories we've written or plan to write (about half of us are budding authors, including a fellow Bionicle fan that I might've convinced to join us as a member), and I got into a bit of an arguement with Ben, another fencer. I'd been talking about plot for some of the novel ideas I have, and he wanted to know what morals/messages I had been implement
It's not that bad; kinda reminds me of KOTOR. I have a Fighter named Blaze Attura, and I'm starting to get the hang of this (I haven't played computer games since forever ). I don't like the backround music, but I'll get used to it.
*goes to play more*
I really need to wrap up Twilight Princess before I go back to school. I'm about halfway through the Palace of Twilight, so this shouldn't be too hard (well, other than getting chased around with those giant hands that creep me out ...).
Another reason why I should put down my pen for a bit? The copy of the Metroid Prime Trilogy (yes, the one with the metal case) that I promised myself I'd play over the summer still hasn't been inserted into the Wii.
*starts singing* "It's the most wonderful time of the year --"
*great white jumps out of water and eats seal*
Well, in any case, it gives me the perfect excuse to install that Seneca's Keep shark tank that I've always wanted in there.
Now I have two friends that won the Cryoshell albums. I swear there's a conspiracy -- or maybe the odds just don't like me.
*soothes ego by posting another Wings chapter*
