My family hasn't been doing well lately. We have to deal with TWO people having medical issues at once!
My nan had a cardiac event last week and has been in hospital. I don't know what's next for her, but I do realise that I may never be able to go shopping with her on Thursdays, even if she does survive!

Last night I finally got a one-on-one tutoring session with a talented Pokemon player on the Pokemon Online server I practice on, and now I have a brilliant team that has only lost once thus far! I even won a tournament with it! Naturally, my confidence has just used U-Turn! EDIT: I just won my second tournament in a row there! :biggrin: I know another tournament is coming next month, but idk if it will use the same rules as this online tournament did. So, we were having a break during my first TAFE class yesterday, when suddenly the power went out! When it came back on with a generator, the alarm sounded! We didn't evacuate at that point, but we were eventually told what had happened: the surrounding area had a power outage! The primary generator couldn't be fixed within the day, so to preserve energy, the entire campus was soon evacuated and we had the rest of the day off.
I just came back from an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Normally when I go there I have 3 or 4 dishes, plus desert. This time however, I could only manage 2 and desert. It's common for a growing teen to eat heaps, but I'm beginning to think that phase is now behind me... *starts feeling old*
So, because of TAFE and an upcoming public holiday, I get 5 consecutive days off TAFE! Friday (when I did my driving test) was a normal timetable day off TAFE for me anyway, Saturday and Sunday were the weekend, Tuesday we get off because of Melbourne Cup Day, and Monday the TAFE gave us off because of Cup Day. After that we only get 2 days of TAFE, and then 3 days off for a normal long weekend. Then things go back to normal (kind of; watch this space).
You may have noticed that my activity has dropped in the blogs lately. That's because I've run out of stories to discuss! There will definitely be more in the future, rest assured of that. I just wish I could still post as often as I used to.

So, I attended another Pokemon tournament, and once again I lost in the first round. What I used was a Trick Room team a tutor helped me build, which means the strategy was not my own despite being Trick Room. I've noticed that every time I lost in the first round, it was using a strategy that wasn't mine. The same thing happened in April and July. So, I attended another meetup in the city today, which was held at a place called Good Games. It's a venue where people play various trading card games, including Pokemon. Because I'm the world's biggest Machop fan, a friend gave me three original Machop trading cards! I owe BZP this update on my Pokemon tournament status. Just before the tournament in April, the forums went down, and stayed down for 5 and a half months! In that time, THREE Pokemon tournaments have gone by! In the first tournament, I used the infamous Whimsicott+Terrakion combo. There are three public transport ticketing systems in Victoria: Myki, Metcards and V/Line tickets. From January 1, all three will have their prices increased by 8.6%. This means I'll have to take the train trip this Wednesday, so I can get the tickets for cheaper.

I've decided on my next train trip. Tomorrow week, I will travel down the Sandringham line, which was the nearest line to where my late grandmother used to live. Then I will come back to Elsternwick and watch the Puss in Boots movie at the theatre there, where I always watched movies with my grandmother back in the day. Finally, I will walk down to her old home and pay my respects to her and her town.
QANTAS decided to put themselves first and neglect tens of thousands of passengers, including many sick and dying passengers, by grounding their entire fleet, losing more money over this pay dispute than they would've if they had done nothing. I think QANTAS needs to just grow up and stop being so selfish. If not, then Australia will die, and the Global Financial Crisis will worsen.
I looked up train ticket fares for tomorrow's trip, and discovered I have to pay for separate tickets each trip! This means I'll have to pay almost $30 AUD for fares alone!
ZOMG 100TH BLOG ENTRY! I only have a couple of assignments I have to finish, and I'm confident I can get them done in time to get my Certificate! My only concern is one class which is set up as nothing more than lectures and one or two small tasks per class, which no-one pays attention to. I know a test is coming, and I may need assistance to get ready for it. That test is my only true obstacle IMO.
