Snow

Well, what else is there to say?   SNOW. =D It's awesome. And since there's no whipping biting winds during snow (unless it's a blizzard of course), it's a very pleasant kind of cold out.   Yay.

The Deadline Approaches...

AGH AGH AGH AGH AGH AGH AGH AGH AGH.   AAAAAAAAAAUGH.   Oh yeah if you noticed I'm using the "flipping" technique, helps you get a new perspective on your image and pick out flaws you didn't see before.     AAAAAAUGH.

The Value Of Being Well Read

This year I'm trying to read all the books that I've heard of and should have read already by now. I think I mentioned that earlier. So far I've read 2001: A Space Odyssey, I, Robot, War of the Worlds, about half of Catch-22 (though entertaining, I couldn't get through it before I had to return it), I have Something Wicked This Way Comes sitting in my room but I haven't read it yet, same goes for Farenheit 451, you can probably tell I like science fiction... I've also read Eragon just because e

All About The Motivation

Sister: If the Olympics happen in America can we go see them?   Me: You're gonna have to wait and see if New York puts in a bid for the 2016 Olympics.   Mom: 2016?   Me: London has 2012, remember?   Mom: Oh yeah.   Sister: Why New York? Because Daddy works there?   Me: Because it's close, doesn't matter whether or not Daddy works there.   Mom: (to my sister) And how old will you be in 2016?   Sister: Um... 15?   Mom: Think about it. What year were you born?   Sister: 2002.   Mom: So w

Emoticats

Ain't they adorable? =D   yay for da psychotic kitty! One with the blood on her paws. Definitely my favorite one. I have like twenty-nine-thousand and a half other doodles of her, all with speech bubbles to accompany them.   No they don't have pupils. Who needs 'em?   Fwee!   And by the popular request of a grand total of two people, avvies: http://majhost.com/gallery/zero0zero/Stuff/Blogart/catav*.jpg Replace the * with the number of the avatar: The images are posted in order, if you

Identify This Font!

The above is the speedometer for my car.   For the life of me I cannot remember what font I used, and all the type layers were quite unwisely rasterized. I've seriously gone through every single font on this computer without success... I can't imagine which one it would be! I keep getting the feeling it's one of those gothic fonts, or something, but I can't place it... and I have no idea how a font on this computer could have disappeared... oO   If you could identify that font, that would be g

I Feel Really Really Stupid Right Now

So today's my last day here, right? So I was packing.   And I got a call from someone I know in the same program and she's like "hey are you packing?" and I'm like "yeah" and then at some point she mentions the time and I glance at my clock and I'm like "5:40" and then that reminds me of my cell phone (since I'm always checking my phone for the time when I'm out) so I glance at my desk and I'm like "huh, where's my cell phone?"   It doesn't hit me for a FULL MINUTE. I'm like saying out loud "H

Reverse Engrish

Can't link it here since it's a blog and will occasionally, casually use strong language... but I recently found something that's hilarious and relevant to my interests.   I'm sure everyone here knows about Engrish. Basically, people in other countries, usually Japan and China, botch English in horrible ways. Well, one ethnically Chinese blogger decided to turn the tables on that and point out the many stupid ways Westerners use East Asian languages. The blog has actually been going since 2004

"edit" In Title! Pleeeeease!

Four letters somehow inserted into your topic title will not kill you. That rule seems to be forgotten so often. I can find about three new topics each day in the Art forum that are edits, without the indication in the title.   See the problem here is, each time I actually DO expect drawn art when I click on the topic. I'm not kidding, the reason that Pohuaki instituted the rule is in fact valid.   'Cuz you know, every time you don't put edit in your topic title, part of Psycho Kitty dies.

Shows What We Know

Today in Global Studies we were asked to, in groups, make lists of various countries around the world such as "Top 3 Wealthiest Nations," etc., based on what we knew, and then check our guesses against actual statistics.   Well, we got the wealthiest nations wrong (this I blame on the question; the statistic was listed in per capita GDP, while we were just considering GDP in general) and the question that asked for the country with the 4th highest population (ignoring the first 3, which of cour

TOMORROW.   I'll have to go to sleep at, like, nine or eight tonight. And have a large breakfast with lots of energy and protein. Eggs are good, I suppose. Maybe two tablespoons of sugar, too, just to keep me alert. And a caffeinated beverage.   Perhaps I'll keep a couple of Pixie Stix surreptitiously in my pocket during the exam. If I feel like conking out, I'll dump one down my throat.   Also, ENGLISH PROJECT.   Massive. And due Wednesday.   Or rather... PRESENTED Wednesday. WHICH IS EVEN

Surrounded By Geeks 2

"Nobody says 'thirteen-thirty-seven!' You say 'one-three-three-seven.' You never say 'thirteen-thirty-seven!'"   "You do if you're making a joke!"   This is apparently what people discuss when walking along the sidewalk. I overheard on the way to Doherty Hall today.   I expect it's worse at MIT though... when we took a campus tour the "endless hallway" had this long paper banner running down the center, that either the graduating seniors or the incoming freshmen grafittied all over. There we

Friendly And Nosy

Whether the line between them is fine or not, there is no doubt that these two girls were way over it.   So the other day, after yet another five-hour night, I also happened to be somewhat sick with a cough. So while usually I'd be awake by the afternoon, this time I got on the bus, plopped my backpack on the seat, tossed my jacket on my backpack, flopped down on top of both of them, and started to doze.   Now. WHY did these two feel the need to question me about my sleep habits WHEN I OBVIOUS

If Only...

*sigh*   It's not going too badly, though, but I'm having to clean off the ends of the lines by hand.   So, it's election day! Pretty exciting. MSNBC is open in another window. (not paying much attention XD)   I really should be working on college stuff. =<

Augh!

Okay, I'm losing my MIND here.   1. dON'T USE cAPSLOCK! If you want to EMPHASIZE a word, all caps it. If you want to say, "HEY COME TAKE A LOOK AT THIS EVERYBODY!" caps it. If you're saying "THIS IS MY NEW ART TOPIC. WHAT DO YOU THINK." Do NOT use caps! All caps is ANNOYING.   2. dont we al hav som prgoram wit spal cakc? y cant u al a tlest tri 2 us spel chak? r wud it hrt 2 lern the rite wya 2 pel a wrod th ehrad way?   3. Rain Day

That's the first time it's ever happened to me.   School called off for massive Nor'easter storm (I've always wondered, why not just say "Northeaster"? Is the extra "th" that much trouble?).   Though it's already stopped raining. Lots of flooding and stuff yesterday, though. Not specifically by my house, our basement is still dry, but just in the area.   Also...     Yaaaaaay I'm really considering the T-shirt thing. If anything I'd buy one for myself. =3

First Day Of School

This year is gonna rock!   I already know two of my teachers, my Latin teacher and my Physics teacher. I sorta know a third teacher, and he's pretty darn cool; I've got him for BOTH Comp Sci AND Stat, which I have first and third period, respectively, on B-Days. My English teacher also seems fun, and I got the reading list... and there's Vonnegut and more Phillip K. Dick and Orwell... and like, this is the only reading list EVER that I've been able to mark off books that I've already read, name

New Rahkshi Avs

Ta-dah!   Also classes are hard.   Also also. It's really hot.   Also also also. We went on a trip to Kennywood on July 4th.   Also also also. Also. Happy July 4th.   Also I should stop saying also.   So I also discovered this really cool webcomic called the Abominable Charles Christopher. Google it. Don't worry, it's kiddie friendly   So is Kukuburi, really... very different kinds of comics.   Other comics I read, maybe not for the BZP crowd.   Where was I?   Econ is really abstract

I Can Only Assume This Will Run Out Soon

Well, apparently it was last year January 6th when I noticed the "Premier" logo under my name... so I'm kinda surprised that this is still up   But then, I can only assume my PMship shall run out soon, barring the day on which I finalize or win *fingers crossed* another contest...   So I've had fun with this blog, despite the fact that I took no advantage of most of my other perks such as starting topics in Voting Booth and Games & Trivia... Heck, maybe I oughta do it now, just to say I

Suzumiya Haruhi No Shoushitsu: April 2009

According to screenshots from a TV commercial for the March issue of Newtype magazine of the cover of said magazine posted on a relatively reliable site that I can't link to due to forums but I watched an upload of the commercial myself and it looks pretty darned legit, the new season of Haruhi is announced for April of this year and while I would not be surprised if KyoAni were pulling our legs again let me just take this moment to say   HECK. YEAH.

Kids Say The Darndest Things

They do. Seriously.   My sister graduated from daycare yesterday, and they had a really cute ceremony with all the graduates singing and putting on plays and even getting little diplomas, and naturally there were plenty of hilarious little preschooler antics.   But first, an anecdote from even before that.   Young children have the ability to be amazingly honest and amazingly unflattering. We were having lunch (or dinner, I forget) the other day, and I was sitting next to my sister, so I purp
