New Video

I've been spending much of my free time working on my extremely labor-intensive project, known simply as Mata Zuto 3D: Influx. Now, I have something new to present to the few of you who are interested.   Click here to see the player character unsheath his sword and battle the evil mesh. Also take a look at the interface. The enemy HUD may or may not stay that way. I would like feedback on how you like that panel that appears on the left side of the screen. You can battle up to four enemies at

New Software Library Staff!

After much time passing, I finally present to you two new BZP Software Library staff members. One of these members will be in a brand-new staff position here. This position, the Awards Management position, oversees the awards that are given out to games. There are 8 awards: 4 Editors Choice Awards and 4 Categorical Awards(1 Best Music Award, 1 Best Graphics Award, 1 Best Storyline Award, and 1 Best Gameplay Award). When a category gets a perfect score, it is in the running for the award for that

New Car!

Item by item, I'm getting the things that I require in order to lead a rather stable life.   Life in San Antonio has been different... way different than I had expected. Work is work and will always be work, and I'm still getting used to my shorter evenings.   The most recent item in my list of things I need is a new car. My old one looked okay, 2003 Ford Taurus, but it wasn't dependable. Going to work every morning was like playing a game of Russian roulette with being late. Had that not been a

New Avatar And Brickfair

Okay, so this avatar as hardly new now, but still... glad to see no one was freaked out by the slasher smile. I saw that online and felt a compulsion to 'avatarize' that one frame.   Also, I'm going to Brickfair! No, not the one a gazillion miles away (though I suppose that's not officially off the table yet), but the closer one in Alabama. That time will definitely be the best time in 2012 for me to go anywhere, so I thought it'd be best to take advantage of the good timing.

Music Theory Exam

I just took the Music Theory AP Exam this past Monday. It was fun, painful, and enlightening all at the same time!   ... so yeah.

Moving

I forgot to mention: today's moving day for me. It's only down the street to another apartment though (less than a half-mile away), and it's still on campus. As an upper-classman, I have to move to the designated upper-classmens group of apartments. It only a two-bedroom though, which I like (I'm currently in a four-bedroom). I haven't even begun gathering my stuff up to put in my car though. At any rate, that's pretty much my day for today.   In other news, you should allow Aho to brighten yo

Making The Switch

Alright, guys. Brickshelf may be back, but honestly, there's no reason to use it any more. Use this tool to download all your images from there, and switch to a more dependable image host.   Thanks to Cholie for reminding me about this tool. Unfortunately, you can't get you Maj pics from this.

Lomz: Fall Of The Conqueror Walkthrough

Walkthrough: LoMZ: Fall of the Conqueror This is the first episode of the Legend of Mata Zuto series, while not my favorite episode, I will always treasure it as the one that started it all. This game was first developed in early 2003 with RPG Maker 2000. Instead of Fall of the Conqueror, this game was simply known as "Genesis". After many revamps and remakes, this final version (made with RPG Maker 2003) was first released to the public on February 10, 2007, and is now completed. If you are ha

Live from Kuwait

So I'm at my intermediate stop on my overseas trip to Dubai. Not a lot of interesting things at this little terminal. Apparently the airline I'm flying to Dubai only had one gate.   So why Dubai? My sister lives and works there, so I decided to spend this year's vacation time visiting her. This stop wasn't originally part of the plan so of course, the parents are worried, but that's standby travel for you, and at least this option is, well, affordable.   At any rate, I'm excited. Hope I rememb

Lego Star Wars 2

I've never played any of the LEGO <insert franchise> games, and I thought it'd be a good idea to pick up LEGO Star Wars 2, especially since I already said in my Cyan Productions topic that Influx would be inspired a bit by this game. Hard to do that when you haven't played it.   I'm liking it so far. I'm only on the first level, but it's super easy. It's still really fun though, and I'm sure it's going to get harder as I go along. I'm already getting some good gameplay ideas to use in In

LEGO Movie and Frozen

I recently was able to watch both The LEGO Movie as well as Frozen. I'll just share some quick thoughts on both:     The LEGO Movie Honestly, I wasn't sure about going to see it at first. For one, the trailers didn't blow me away like they did for other people, and I knew I'd probably be seeing it surrounded by noisy kids on a Saturday afternoon (note: Saturday afternoons are the only windows of free time I really have to venture out into the city).   Anyway, I heard about the great reviews so

Just a Thought

If the Brick Fiesta folks* are going to continue to have their cons on the same weekend and in a different city than RTX, I'm not sure how they expect me to attend...   Not saying I definitely won't be doing Brick Fiesta coverage next year, but... chances aren't very high. Driving between San Antonio and here takes 90 minutes - 3 hours round trip. Whoever plans on attending should remember to bring their camera and their photography skills, and maybe some notes to take. I still really want to

It Never Stops

I thought that graduation would hit me with a brick-like force. It turns out that I've gotten over with it quite well. My head-first dive into my new career is probably to blame for that.   So I've spending much of the past month transitioning and getting ready for my change in scenery. I'm currently at a six-week training stint in Cincinnati, OH. I'm working for a software company, and I'll be moving (and staying) in San Antonio, which is alright I guess. This does mean that I have to learn yet

Is it just me?

Or is getting a separate google+ page / youtube account a lot more complex than it needs to be?   I felt like I was going around in circles, turns out there's an option right there on the left side of google+   Well, between website, youtube, and google+ page, I'm poised to begin marketing Power Lies Beneath when the time comes.   Man, that took a lot longer than it needed too.   *Also there might be another google account floating about now...

Intriguing

I'm not sure who bundled up their snow and shipped it to Texas (I'm thinking it was Andrew, but I'm not sure), but thanks! No classes today.

Influx Soundtrack! (demo Songs)

Update 2: "On a Quest" has also been added. Like "Cy-Wahi," I was also going for the feel from the MNOLG soundtrack. Let me know what you think!   Update 1: The 'Cy-Wahi' theme has been added. To give you a frame of reference, I'm trying to go for the MNOLG feel (Le-Koro especially), with the techno/vaguely tribal feel. Please tell me how close I've gotten to achieving that. It would really help.   Part of any game development process is music composition (or music ripping if you're lazy =P).

In Other News...

I finally shrunk down my gi-normous approval seal. It's now only 200 pixels wide. If you still have the oversized one, scroll down and switch it out with the new one.   Yeah, I think that's all I have to say for today. EDIT: I need to change my av for this blog... eh, I'll do it later.

In Case You Haven't Heard

I will be attending Brickfair in two weeks, from Friday to Sunday (I leave Monday morning). I look forward to putting many names to faces, as well as seeing Chantilly set the bar on LEGO conventions once again.   You will likely find me either with Black Six's crew or the BZPRPG crew, or both, if we merge, haha. I hope to meet everyone who's attending sometime that weekend!
