Ah, today my local Home Depot was on fire. At school I heard an announcement of some cocurricular being cancelled due to a fire near their meeting site. I found exactly what was on fire when I was driven by one of our favored stores. The usual -- columns of smoke dissipating into the blue sky, not a lot of flames, water gushing from huge fire hoses suspended on cranes.
I remember in fourth grade that our teacher once asked us to write about the first time we had

Happy Easter, everyone! I obviously don't have as much time for this blog nowadays, but I have to say something on Easter!
I'm happy. I have no school for the rest of the week. My birthday's tomorrow. I can drink soda again after denying myself that pleasure for all the forty days of Lent. Are you happy, too? I hope you are.
Summer's on its way. I see myself sprinting down the home stretch, waiting eagerly for the months during which I don't have to wake up at 6:45

If at first you don't succeed, you're in good company. Yesterday I finally beat Halo 2 in legendary mode, earning the highest level status "The Great Journey on Legendary" in my profile.
It feels great not to be haunted by failure anymore, if you know what I mean. Beating the first Halo on legendary this summer was no problem. It was fun. It was great knowing that every time I sat down, I would at least get past the next checkpoint. Halo 2 was different, however. W

Seeing this blog again is a beautiful thing.
Being off this website for a month was both an inconvenience and a delight. What resulted in the loss of forums, PMs, and blogging allowed room for a certain leisure time from my usual activities here. And although I haven't really spent the last month thinking of what to say at this time, I do have some important things to talk about - about my venturing into a new phase of my life, as well as the state of this blog an

Had to go back to summer school class again. Ack. Everyone hates us because we get hour-long breaks while they have to stay in class and get the occasional fifteen-minute break. And we get days off. But it's still a drag going to school when I'm accustomed to lying at home, doin' nothin', maybe posting on BZP all day...
My S&T contest entry is finally headed for the polls. Three judges have done the deed, so there's nothing stopping me now.

Guess which animal.
So, I just got back yesterday from a trip. Twelve-hour car rides aren't my favorite thing, but I'm just glad to be back. School starts on Thursday.
I'll tell you the answer to the above in a later entry. Unless of course someone gets it before then. I think you'll be surprised by the answer.

The point  of subscribing  to Brickmaster  was that I wouldn't  have to call them  in order to get the next issue every two months. But when it's the 31st of the month, and my magazine, as has happened WAY too many times before, has not shown up -- and this time, my Lego set hasn't even arrived in the mail either -- what choice do I have?

I recently ran across the Greek word antron, which means "cave." A quick Wikipedia search revealed that Antrozoidae is one family for bats. Total coincidence or not (probably not), "Antroz" is just one more of dozens of names this year that have real-world roots.
Radiak -- radiant (light is classified as radiant energy)
Photok -- photo (Greek root for "light")
Kirop -- chiroptera (order in which bats are classified, literally means "winged hand")
Tanma -- tan (lik

I got my quarter grades the other day. I'm doing way better than I was last year at this time! School has been really, really hard this year and has consumed most of my time (clearly the reason why I don't post as much as I did a couple months ago). But it looks like all of that time that I've spent has paid off. Look:
English -- 98
Science -- 92
Greek -- 99
Orchestra -- 100
Religion -- 98
Math -- 92
Go me!

Did you know that on America's roads there is a whole lane dedicated to safe, legal drivers?
It's called the right lane.
Drive responsibly.

...Oh, right.
I'm adding a new thing to my entries now: Ancient Greek Word of the Day. You know, every day I post a word from the Classical Greek language ('cuz it's so cool). Today's GWotD is:
Transliteration: geōrgos
Translation: farmer
Derivatives: George, georgic, geo- prefix
Georgos is
Toa Gali was a Toa of Water and one of the Toa Mata. She was gifted with the elemental power of water; wore a Kanohi Kaukau, the Great Mask of Underwater Breathing; and carried two hooks through which she could channel her elemental water power. Gali and the other Toa Mata were a part of the legend of Mata Nui, a legend that the Turaga of Mata Nui often told to the Matoran during the millennium between the Great Cataclysm and the Toa Mata’s arrival. The legend itself was spawned by a mix of comm

..:Freedom:..
Sophomore year wasn't so tough as it was long.
But I took my last final today. I'm done. Summer is here. And I am free at last.
Ugh, the fireworks in my neighborhood. The sound of explosions is cool at 8:00, or 9:00, but 10:30? Happens every year. The neighbors stock up on illegal fireworks and are firing them off until 11PM every night for the next three weeks!

Chapter Four of Federation of Fear was posted, briefly taken down, and then re-posted on www.bioniclestory.com today.
Spiriah has been in command of Brutaka's ship for three days, not giving his captive crewmates an inch for resistance. Just off the shore of Zakaz, Spiriah's small armada of Zyglak ships attacks the Dark Hunter patrol boats. Those that are not sunk immediately beach on Zakaz -- their crews are promptly killed by the hateful Skakdi. Spiriah's Zygla

Farshtey Feed 1-year Anniversary!
It was one year ago today, on September 12, 2008, when I posted the very first entry of the Farshtey Feed. What a great response I've gotten over the past year! Here's a great big thanks to you guys for making the Farshtey Feed a pleasure to run.
