First, Laughin'Man posted an interesting 10 Question entry. Shortly afterwards, Bundalings the Surprise posted his own follow-up entry. If I post one next, will this thing turn into a fad?
Let's test it out.
10 Questions
1. What’s better: a husky, a cougar, a pack of huskies, a pack of cougars, or a pachyderm?
2. Would you like to discuss Einstein’s theory of relativity and how it applies to modern day physics and the string theory?
3. Do you support Jonism?
4. Do you know what Jon
I don't really have any big stories from that day, but here's something.
I was rereading an Animorphs novel the other day that was set in NYC. Very specifically, the sight of the Twin Towers gave away that it was set in NYC. I've seen older movies where they do a flyby of the city of whatever before focusing on the characters, and the Twin Towers always stood it. It's weird... and horrible... that such a symbol had been taken down. My thoughts go out to the people whose lives were changed
Yay now I have a spinny Hau under my name! Letsee... I jointed 9 years ago on Janurary 17th. The Bohrok Kal were big, the Rahkshi were in our future, and BZP was celebrating it's 3,000th member. Since that day I have matured very little, and failed at lots of things. LOTS OF THINGS. But cool stuff has happened too. Also, the second half of the White Collar season starts up tonight. Woot! Also, new gif in my sig. Since the sig doesn't show up here, I'll post the gif. WOO!
So we are now on the third wave of Collectible Minifigures featuring DC characters, only this time it's not branded as coming from The LEGO Batman movie. I'm personally a bigger fan of the generic CMFs so the increase in licensed themes isn't always to my tastes, but I'm a sucker for good figs so I wanted to collect some. Granted, I haven't had the most luck so far with these... LEGO Online order gave me two Green Lanterns and Joker (the latter who I did not want.) When I visited the LEGO Sto
I have now been on BZPower for 7 Years now. I now have a spinning gold Ignika under my name. Let me look back on my many achievements...
Well, in my first few years, I averaged around 1,000 posts per year, but now I only have around 5500 that count in 7 years, so my average has dropped. Sadface.
My stories... well, I hadn't updated any of them for a year until last month, and the story updates recieved minimal reader interest. I need to retrap my audience.
And something else happ
There was an article on MSN today. Go there to read all the actual mumble jumble about consumer choices and belt tightening and overall statistics about economic stuff that is probably mostly made up. Or not, its just those econ things really annoy me.
Anyway, it was a list of seven things that are getting pricier, and seven things that are getting cheaper.
Houses cheaper.
Food more expensive.
Electronics cheaper.
College tuition more expensive.
Green alternative energy sources cheap
And a new rank, yay! I don't get much of those anymore. Fun fact, for my first couple of years here, I was able to get roughly 1,000 posts a year. It's taken me about 7 months to get 100. ... I need to get out of the blogs more. (We should really have blog comments add up to our post count) And it doesn't help that all the forums I post it don't count for post count. Now onto Six thousand and TWO hundred posts!
(Click for Review) Somewhat surprisingly, this is my first EVER Bionicle review posted on the BZPower front page. My first review was Ben 10, right after the higher staff had all claimed the Bionicle Stars sets in 2010, so I never got a chance to review em back then, and I got disincluded from reviewing the first Gen 2 wave this year. But I managed to sneak one in. Coolio. Eh, it's a lengthy review for what boils down to an exclusive mask. But hey, another chance to post black light photos o
Until I catch a plane going anywhere. (Specifically, DC)
Looks like me schedules for work and school will be alright too, so I don't have to *ahem* cancel my trip just to make up some hours. Unfortunatly, I don't know if I'll be able to find time to sleep. Or eat.
But that's not for another couple of weeks, so I have time...
On this day, 30 years ago, Mount St Helens has its famous eruption. Today, it is still an active volcano, although not nearly as explosive. I was able to watch some of the eruptions earlier this decade from my school, where the lava dome began to regrow. And I've been able to visit the areas around it, and study the causes and effects of volcanic activity. And it's just a reminder of how powerful volcanoes are. So cool.
I like three in the morning. Four is pushing it, especially if you have something to do the next day (aka daylight hours). If you stay up till five or six, you're looking at watching a sunrise. (Unless, of course, you're an early bird who wakes up that early anyway)
However, as much as fun as one and two in the morning are, they're too popular. You've got to be dedicated to stay up this late, and there's still a tiny glimmer of hope that you'll be operating the next day, so it's all good.
Full Album Honestly, I was not aware of the Bio-Cup competition, but then again I'm not exactly in the Bionicle MOCing community on Flickr. Honestly don't know if this model stands a chance. I'm really pleased with my Onua and Tahu models, and the stone hand turned out nicely. But the fire phoenix was kinda thrown together... and it features prominently in the entry pict, so... Anyway, I hope the image conveys more of a scene with some motion than you'd normally get. But I've seen some of th
I kind of want to write some sort of adventure story based on the apocalyptic 2012 date. Even though I don't believe that there will be a sudden world ending disaster (to my belief, we've already doomed ourselves to global warming and it's going to be long and painful before we all burn up) I still think it would be fun to fit in some of my fantasy creations into a disaster type of thing.
Only problem is that I have to finish it by 2012, and since I've hardly done any written recently, that
Meh.
2010 was not a good year for me, academically, financially, physiologically. It's had some bright spots, but a lot of 2010 was not great. (And it doesn't help that I'm a pessimist and a downer, so ha)
Oh the other hand, I did well in Lego this year (again, see "not a good year financially"). Instead of some heartfelt (and depressing) speech about how bad this year was and / or how I will make next year fabulous, I'll list of the sets I purchased. That is what brought me true happi
EDIT: Bumped cause you guys haven't figured it out yet!! Let's play 20 Questions! I think you should know the basic rules; I'm thinking of something Bionicle related, and you ask questions to help narrow it down! Here are some of the more detailed rules: 1: The questions can only be yes or no questions. So "Is he pink" works but "what color is he" doesn't. 2: There can only be ONE question per post, and no double posting. 3: I will edit my answer into every body's post. You can only add
I did this a while back and it was a lot of fun, and I want to do something more in my blog besides lame rantings of things. So let's do this!! Let's play 20 Questions! I think you should know the basic rules; I'm thinking of something Bionicle related, and you ask questions to help narrow it down! (Heck, might be slightly easier this time since we can know everything there is to know about the Bionicle universe.) Here are some of the more detailed rules: 1: The questions can only be yes
