Anthro-Bionicle art can be divided into three "waves." The first wave, lasting from 2001 to 2003, was carried on by D'anda-inspired artists like ToA who built on set-style to give their characters more personality, adding pronounced facial details and realistic textures to create a less rigid alternative to the emotionless set-style art that was the only way anyone knew how to draw Bionicle characters. To compare Bionicle art to music, one could compare it to the pre-'50s blues that influenced t

I just remembered it's the RZ-man's birthday, and in his memory and based on an idea from a friend of mine who used to be on BZP, I shall be hosting the Bionicle Artist of the Month Award! I need your help in deciding who wins this glorious prize.

Whoa.
And the winner of MOCC #3: The Mother of All MOCs is...
Caa - Veg
-Veg- will win a free art request and a member shrine in his honor. Everyone else who entered will win an art request, as there weren't enough votes for 2nd and 3rd places.
1. Rahi Zaku. Hands-down the most influential Bionicle artist of all time. Without the RZ-man, where would any of us be? Morgan Biddinger brought the pseudo-chibi—or “hard empire”—style out of the BZP underground and sent it rocketing into the mainstream of Bionicle art. He also created countless kits, won a BBC in a landslide and influenced an entire generation of Bionicle artists—all in the span of only three years.
2. Nikira. Probably the most likely candidate for the “new RZ” title, Nikir
BrickCon's sounds like it's gonna ROCK! Free BrickArms, famous LEGO builders, amazing creations and... I'm not going.
Luckily, I have something to distract myself from the disappointment of not attending this three-day festival of love, art and plastic--namely the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco featuring Robert Plant and Elvis Costello (among many others.)
Pick the Great Being you worship... or just your fave, I'm not picky.

In this contest, the theme is to create a Great Being--or at least what you imagine a Great Being to look like.

1st prize will be a member shrine
Well, I'm not going to BrickCon.
Why?
For the mere reason that my mother--the root of all evil--thinks it's too expensive. Which it probably is, considering my father wants to tag along. She is also under the impression that nobody is coming, which is untrue, as most of the attendees are extremely famous Internet LEGO builders.
...and things are going fairly well. We have a new Geography teacher. The previous one, who I didn't have because I was in junior high, had a horrible reputation among the students. She's gone now, and the replacement is pretty well-received.
However, there are only four other freshmen besides me, one of whom is always absent. It's a very lonely situation. And because I'm retaking the first part of Algebra 1, the teacher torments me by giving me extra.
Some people have asked why I didn't have a poll for MOCC #2. The reason is quite simple: have you ever seen a blog contest with a poll?
However, in my never-ending quest to be maniacally different from other blogs, the winners of the next MOCC will be decided in a poll on the blog.
Sorry for any inconveniences.
