AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ... AAAAAAAAAAA. Oh man oh man it's 2 days away *breathes heavily, waiting for Friday to arrive* I'm stoked, people. I get to see my friends, I get to hang with the SEALUG AFOLs, I get to display my MOCs, and with luck I'll be able to throw my Wacky Racer down the ramp and get decent video of it working. I hope
It took a co-worker of mine in the shop a day and a half to finalize a microscale model. Boss had to change a lot of it. It took me an hour to make one from scratch, with a decent design, and stopping to brainstorm once or twice. Boss tells me he may not change a whole lot, just the base I used. ... Yeah, I think I'm keeping my job for awhile now
So back on Friday, during the huge flood of Steam sales, Bioshock Infinite was one of those games on sale. I didn't buy it. But I was gifted it by a friend as an early Christmas present So now I'm playing it off-and-on (CURSE YOU WORK! *shakes fist*) and enjoying it immensely. ... Granted, had I not read the spoilers like a month after it came out, I'd probably enjoy the twists more. But fortunately knowing the story is actually not enough to prepare me for some of the twists and turns it
I am in the process of planning a System Building Contest here on my blog.
Feel free to suggest a theme, maybe we'll get enough interest to actually do something amazing.
All I know so far is all entries will be voted upon, then judged by top folk (also known as me, and maybe a few friends XD I'd love to ask my boss Dan Parker to judge, but he may be too busy, who knows.)
So let's get some ideas flowing.
Hey all. ... I haven't posted in awhile. Huh. ANYWAY. Coming up this Saturday, we've got MakutaFest 2015. Cue the one lonely dude cheering in the back corner. Not that guy, the one next to him that's quieter. I'll be one of the hosts for this upcoming event, and we have plans to giveaway a few sets on the stream via trivia questions and via raffle. For more details, view the video
. Likewise, we're also planning to review the Summer 2015 sets as soon as they arrive to us on BS01, and we'l
So yeah, I entered XD I like the original source more, of course... but I'm proud of what I built. Because I've been requested to do this, I'll share it here in the blog: Model built by Steven Wert, parts provided by The TbP Group, assembled in the City Blocks Tacoma LEGO Art Center. Thar, now my boss won't say I didn't say it xD
I seem to have awoken my British bloodline (one of the many bloodlines I have) and I now have a posh accent. x_x But on the plus side? I'm about halfway through the storyline (I hope). I'm trying to stretch it out over a few days for once. Still epic.
GO. LISTEN TO IT. I promise, it's better than a lot of the other episodes I've heard. Also I was in it. That's a good reason. Also new BIONICLE info which will possibly be spoiled by the afternoon anyway.
... I want. So badly. Unless it's just like Iron Man. Then it's going to fail. So badly. ... Too bad they couldn't get Rocksteady to make it :\ That'd be epic.
Man, this week. So, tomorrow at around 11:15 PM PDT I fly out towards Cincinnati, where I then wait for 3 hours at 6 AM local time (EDT) to 9 AM to catch a flight to Detroit. From there, I get to meet awesome people and attend a wedding the next day. Wootness to that. Meantime, since last Tuesday I was working on a megafig version of a wonderful character to build in Lego, that being Iron Man. The chest was a combination of the Mk III Arc Reactor core, plus the Mk VI styling and a hint of Mk
Alright, I have mailed out four of the six prizes to the winners of MakutaFest 2012. I cannot (at the moment) afford to ship to the two Canadian winners, but I am making arrangements as I type this (I'm -very- resourceful). The four winners who will receive prizes within the next week are: TanmaDude (-TD-) who gets a TNGM Despair who also gets a TNGM Tekulo: Toa of the Breeze, who gets the silver masks and Kothra, who gets the mask bag (AND FORGOT TO PUT HIS ZIP CODE IN THE EMAIL GRAAAAAAA
So I'll be honest, this was not a first-day buy for me. I actually had to wait for my money to clear before I could buy it. Basically all I missed out on is the Red Son DLC. Oh well. I already 100% completed the main story, leaving only the S.T.A.R. Labs missions to handle, plus random battles. I think right now I favor both Green Lantern and Aquaman (no lame jokes, he's pretty epic in this game) with Nightwing as my third. I haven't had the time to sit down in any capacity to play through e
So, awhile back (for those few who actually read and/or comment on my blog), I took it upon myself to spend one whole week, during bus trips, listening to nothing but Pink Floyd. All 14 studio albums on the trips to and from work. Cholie brought up The Wall on his blog, leading me to a good question: What would be my favorite Pink Floyd album, if I had to do a retrospect (or Swertrospect, since inevitably everybody thinks I should name everything after myself)? I have to say, before this exp
Hey everyone, So, I finally looked around and realized, given how busy I've been, I haven't done anything on BS01 lately in terms of changing out the main page's feature content. Granted, a certain podcast interview miiiiight have been an influence on that front. Anywho. So, because we've had Core War, The Coming of Botar and Gali's quote featured for what feels like months now, I'm open to suggestions. Please feel free to post your suggestions in a reply, and I'll get right on it... Friday.
So, I've had ups and downs the past couple of days, especially concerning work. I'm almost out of the woods, but I've got a lot of work ahead of me there. I hope to have decent photos to show off what hard work I've been doing there. Meantime, as some of my friends know, I bought a new laptop. My HP died late 2012, like July or August or so, and it left me with no method of creativity throughout the rest of 2012 in a work capacity at work. The new one is a Lenovo, G580 i3 2.5 GHz dual core, 4
Yes, we're working on a Death Star. Yes, that's what this is. And yes, this is probably the largest model I've built to date. And yes, I'm taking it to BrickCon.
.... Me. So yeah, picked up this gem at the studio, it was part of a glued TRU/Target/Walmart/WHERVER DAN PICKED IT UP display. Fortunately for me, they only use hot glue. It only occurred to me when I was on the phone with Electric Turahk that I had picked up what is essentially Lhikan's Hau. ... Whoops. Anyway, planning to make it a Lego-pure wearable mask. I have ideas in mind, including the rubber axle connector trick, or using the treads option (we have plenty in the studio). I've g
Hey everyone, I'm happy to announce that HS01 is -finally- ready to upgrade the main page to mimic BS01's in terms of navigation and content. Aside from some cosmetic changes, the navigation is now fully functioning (or will be when it's posted anyway) and I plan to show off these features in the near future in a blog entry or topic (for both sites, cause apparently nobody uses it on BS01 that I am aware of, simply because nobody knows it's there). In non BS01 and HS01 news, I get to work fi
For once, I bring -good- news on this 26th day of December. Nothing really special happens today for me, sorry. But in regards to BS01, and believe me there's good news to it, we're finally settling in on the server quite nicely, and HS01 is up and running quite well. BS01, however, is being a naughty boy and we haven't even started the road to Christmas 2012 yet. No matter, we're speeding up the process internally, and images are (SLOWLY) being reintroduced. I honestly do wish to apologize
I had planned to post like lists of top 10 stuff involving music with Necro. Then I got busy and didn't. Now I have like 2 days left to do so.
Woe is me~ -Swert
