Found a copy, but either it's a lemon, or whatever I did to get ME1 running in Wine was pure luck, as I can't get it working. :(

 

Wonder if I'll just have to put it off until I get a copy of Windows to dual-boot...I hope not.

it might be your hardware not having the sufficient power. Happened to me, once.

 

As long as Wiki's accurate today, it goes above and beyond the minimum specs, so I'm pretty sure that's not it.

Must be Cerberus hacking you...maybe there is a problem with the network, since ME2 is one of those new games communication with the internet on a semi-regular basis?

No, that can't be it.

Most of the time my computer doesn't have an internet connection, and ME2 works just fine after it establishes it won't connect to Cerberus.
