Yeah, there's backward compatibility, but there's still a lot of untapped potential for Black and White :\

Although if they follow the old pattern, I'm guessing the third version in the vein of Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum (Grey?) will be for the 3DS. Just a guess, though.

Maybe, but Emerald was made when the DS was launched, and it was still on GBA. Gray could follow the same pattern unfortunately :\

Which is sad, because if the world needs anything, it needs more stereoscopic 3D Pokemon battles. Yes.

... You don't think 250 is a bit expensive?

I'm at least gonna wait for some better colors. Fingers crossed for the purple or copper that we saw in the prototypes.

I figure it's going into the 3D. Mass-market 3D without glasses isn't exactly low-cost technology, even for a 3.5" screen and a handheld's graphics chip. Heck, if it works, I'm willing to go on-record saying it'll be a revelation for 3D - As long as you can use it on larger screens, for coming up with a method that doesn't need glasses, Nintendo could well corner the market on 3D in the near-future.

All that said though, I am a little tentative given the price, but with a Kid Icarus sequel, an Ocarina of Time remake, and lack of complete and utter failure of the device in Japan as-of-yet, I may be willing to take a gamble and pre-reserve one since I doubt I'll be able to get one otherwise. Not sure I'll run out to buy it first day though.

Well, this is good news -- I've found out that I won't need to trade in my DS for the 3DS when Black and White comes out. =D

Dunno if I'm going get it; it's cool and all, but 3D has been known to make me sick, and I hate to buy something that causes me to vomit every ten minutes

I am pretty sure there is a switch on the 3DS to turn the 3D off, if you like.

It's a slider so you can adjust the 3d effect to your eyes, or turn it off altogether if you like.
