So these kids get a game right while these meteors are crashing into the earth, and the game is a mechanism to transport them to a Magical Land~

So they each go to different parts of the Magical Land~ and quest their way through, battling various monsters which appear in the tall grass and gaining levels.

All that stuff happens to a bunch of troll kids at the same time, but the troll kids finish the quest. Once they're done they hang around and use TIME TRAVELING TRILLIAN to talk to the terrestrial teens during the teens' trials. The trolls have seen the kids fail, but they're trying to stop them anyway because the failure messes stuff up for the trolls too.
