Who's to say they haven't already? Who's to say that the minor electrical impulse generated by pressing the buttons at just the right time isn't enough to jostle the game's capture calculations in your favour?

Actually, I'm pretty sure the button presses affect the RNG somehow, but it wouldn't necessarily be for or against whether you catch the mon.
