Odd Tastes...

My sister is weird. She's four, starting the prime of her kidhood.

So how can there be so many things that kids ought rightly like that she doesn't?

She doesn't like the crunchy parts. Like on fried chicken, she'll only have the meat. Same thing for the Costco rotisserie chicken we buy now and then. The skin has the most flavor!

Even worse, get this: Butterscotch. It's, what, caramelized sugar and butter? It's amazing! How can she NOT like butterscotch?

And I understand tolerance for spiciness comes as you get older, but she can't stand even the slightest hint...

I mean, like the very slight spiciness in pizza sauce even. I'm certain when I was her age I could eat pizza with no problem. I mean, now I'm definitely more tolerant than probably even last year, but just pizza sauce? You can only tell there's spices in it if you try very hard.

Really, it's not that she doesn't LIKE things like that, it's that she specifically HATES them. If she was just like, eh, it's okay but not my favorite, okay, but how can she dislike BUTTERSCOTCH so much that she rejects cookies that have them in them? Those are the best cookies I've ever had!

*sigh* She'd better grow up normal.

My sister hates ketchup, spazzes out about pizza, and throws hissy fits when something isn't perfect.

I hate chocolate (but not hot chocolate and choc milk), peanut butter, butterscotch, most cookies, cake, and pies. Pretty much any desertish thing.

Wow, I feel a lot more confident about my sister's future now.

Let us now debate tastes!

Why wouldn't someone like butterscotch? All I hear from my sister is "No no no!" but can anyone with a rather larger vocabulary than her explain specifically what there's not to like?

Yeah, me too. Peanuts are okay, but not peanut butter. The only cookies I like are the soft n' chewy chocolate chip, these really good homemade ones a student in my class gives me occasionally, and Oreos, and most cakes have bad icing, with mew exceptions. Chocolate pie is good, though...

For me it's Gingersnaps and sometimes Snickerdoodles.

Edit:Colors end tagged.

Actually,I don't like butterscotch either. Too sweat. I'd rather milk chocolate. Mmm. Or spicy food. Or pizza. Or greek food. Or a burger. Or a steak. Or chinese. Or mongolian. Or french bread. Or potatoes. Or chicken. Or beef. Or food. Or...

Gingersnaps are tolerable when drowned in 2% milk.

Most everything else rattled off in the comment section, I'll eat.
