Success! ...kinda.
"Hey, shops inc. guy, store co. stores said they had L4D2 but they didn't. Do you?"
"Yes we do."
"Victory!"
*Pass by electronics co. store on way back to car*
"Well, my computer has been stupid lately, I don't want to crash in the middle of a campaign, and nothing I've tried has worked...lets get it looked at, I have time."
*10 minutes later*
"So given there've been all these kernel panics in such a short time period, something's probably big wrong with it. Do you have a recent backup?"
"Yup."
"Alright, we'll wipe the drive and give you a fresh OS install so that if it's a software issue, we'll flush it out, and if it's hardware, we'll know the software end was fine."
*30 minutes later*
"Alright, and the install is done. It's just like new. To keep as few variables as possible, don't download anything but the programs that gave it kernel panics consistently. Come back sometime this week, if it's okay, we'll transfer all your stuff, and if not, we'll take a look at the hardware. But until then, no programs that didn't cause the problem."
"Does that include my shiny new copy of Left 4 Dead 2?"
"Yes."
"...Wait, does this mean I have t--"
"Yes you have to use the default browser too."
So, the zombie apocalypse is going to be put off a little while longer. Soon though, I have it in my hand!
Edit: And it is still broken. Unfortunately though, electronics co. electronics is closed for today, so the zombie apocalypse may be farther off than hoped.
