Something I Noticed About Imaginaerum

As some of you know, I got Nightwish's new album Imaginaerum and have been listeneing to it fervently. However, while listening, I stumbled across some interesting things...

1. Take the song "I Want My Tears Back" - My favourite track, by the way, but skip to after the second chorus where the solo-y bit starts. Now open up Iron Maiden's "Dance of Death", and skip 'till there's roughly a minute or two left in the song where they sing "When you're lying in your sleep... 'till you're dancing with the dead". They might as well be the same song. In fact, there is a [red video site] video that illustrates my point. You can find it in the suggestions of the aforementioned Nightwish song.

2. Take the third track from the album, "Ghost River". Listen to the intro. Then open up Dream Theater's song "Breaking All Illusions" from their brand new album A Dramatic Turn Of Events. Listen to its intro. The DT one is a bit longer and the Nightwish one a bit heavier, but again, might aswell be one song.

Both the Dream Theater and Iron Maiden albums came out well before. Now, I can't bring myself to think Nightish did this on purpose, because they don't seem like the kind of band to take things - they have enough talent of their own. But the similarities are uncanny.

That's all, carry on.
