Why I Might Not Be At The Comic Con

Background Music: Creeping in My Soul :music:

I've been meaning to write this for a while: I may not be going to the San Diego Comic-Con this year. It started after 2006 Christmas, when my parents bought candy lights and glitter-covered faux greenery.

Then we had to get a gingerbread house, leading to the other four reasons why I may not go:

  1. 30th Anniversary Christmas Sweet Shop
  2. Lego Ideation Station
  3. Ginny's Cookie Treats
  4. Poinsettia Palace

Yes, we are starting a Department 56 village. Totally unexpected, we got each building to represent something about my family: for example, "Ginny" is my Grandmother's nickname. No, we are not done.

My parents asked me to bid on Toot's Model Trains for them. I put in the bid and got:

You Have been outbid.

Anyway, that's why I may not be at the Comic Con: The money that may have been used to pay for admission is paying for a porcelain village.

Paying for a Porcelain Village? That is one of the more useless tradeoffs I've heard in a while. (The most previous trade being a brownie for a bookmark) I mean, while I'm sure it'll look nice, I'd much rather go to Comic Con. Some day, perhaps, I'll attend. Considering I live in the midwest, and even when I do go out to the west coast to visit my Dad, I'm still a day's worth away from the event. A couple years ago though, he took my brother and I to San Diego, the irony being that Comic Con didn't happen until a couple days after we already had plane tickets to leave. So close...and yet so far. You used the words "might not" though, which makes you sound like you're staying somewhat optimistic on the idea. Its still a few months away, so you never know what could happen...

You know? it is a bit weird...

Actually, we're trying to use ebay to save money. For example, today we bought another house for $66 dollars instead of $75.

I'm optimistic because this summer, at the same time as the SDCC, is the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit at the nearby Natural History Museum. If we go to the exhibit, we MIGHT have the money to afford admission for the Convention as well.
