I Am Offended By This!

I am offended by this!

Well I decided to go back to the Lego message boards and check out their bring back bionicle petition. It looks like it had success and then I read this:

Bring Bionicle back or I'm going to sue the LEGO company and storm it with an army of citizens like the French Revolution! Okay, maybe I'm not and that's overboard, but bring Bionicle back, LEGO!

[insert random bouts of rage in French] I can't speak French (wish I did) but how dare he use the French revolution like that. For one thing the French revolution was not pretty, put France in a state of turmoil for a while and resulted in the execution of King Louis XVI (that probably won't be good for the Lego CEO). Besides the revolution put Napoleon Bonaparte in power which was, not bad for France but bad for Europe. While he did say it was over the top I can't believe he'd use it like that. He might as well say he'll tear down the Lego building and turn it into a bridge (like the Bastille) I am ashamed he knows little about history.

Also anyone think I should spend less time on the Lego Message boards?

You should just leave that place.

Excuse the lack of accents:

Ou est Bionicle?

Nous sommes Bionicle!

*spartacus scene*

The fact he knows about the French Revolution certainly means he's more intelligent than most LMBers.

Also, I wish Napoleon took over as CEO of Lego, and crushed the clone brands with volleys of sales injunctions.

Aww... But Allegretto there are just so many entertainingly stupid posts on the boards. I can't leave. Looking back on the topic it appears a BZP member posted (with sanity and correct grammar) and they know about us. Which brings joy and fear to me.

@Waffles MLB?

In addition, Robspierre (I think that's how his name was spelt), was executing people left and right during the Revolution. He wanted a ten day week, 40 day month (I think. I don't recall the exact numbers from my Global History class).

Scheduling would face nightmares.

Robespierre. The government under the Committee of Public Safety could actually have you sent to the guillotine for saying "monsieur." But that was after the revolution proper, since by then the Jacobins ruled the country. Also, the Revolutionary Calendar was actually instated; it had ten-day weeks (decades--accent on first e), thirty day months (decadi--accent on e), no religious days of any sort, five to six extra days for a celebration, years numbered from September 22nd of 1797 (the proclamation of the First Republic), and twelve months with names based on the seasons.
