Now For A Late Entry By Daiker
On the subject of BBC contests allowing LDD models.
I feel one of the key challenges with MOCing is the MOCers inventory. The amount of parts one has affects how they use them and adds to the challenge. With LDD, you do have an (almost) unlimited supply of parts, but as to how you use them is in a way more difficult. Things must be able to fit perfectly, and such. With actual parts, the way you use and can put on parts varies, from legal to illegal connections. I think having to MOC with reals parts is much fairer in such contests. The inventory of a creator can either make or break their creations, and in my opinion, it gives contestants a fairer contest.
It's like adding a robot in a running marathon. They have an upper hand as they don't tire, and you eventually will. But that's just the way I see it.
