Didn't think Cap was a very strong character, Bucky's mandatory death was a bit lazily done. Also maybe I'm just being picky but I hated the level of technology in it, not only did it contradict the world as portrayed in Hulk/Iron Man but was completely inconsistent. I mean that one control panel in one of the Hydra bases looked like a TARDIS console; a flip counter right next to a security camera? Really?

I must say though the scene with Cap doing USO shows was one of my favourite scenes in any Marvel movie

:kaukau: First, I'm glad that none of these entries are giving away any spoilers. Second, what Kumata said about Thor and Captain America interests me, seeing as those films set my expectations low, but now I suppose I'll drop the expectations that those films gave me.

After some consideration, I think I'll watch the film tomorrow, even though I have an essay I have to write by Monday.

Your Honor,

The high tech level in Cap is either down to Stark or Hydra. In the case of Howard Stark and things like hovering cars, well, what would you expect from Stark Industries?

In the case of Hydra its because they've got the Tesseract bumping them up. Crazy things like that rocket-copter the Red Skull pilots and the big Valkyrie at the end were all genuine designs from WWII, its just they couldn't work. Throw in a magitek maguffin though...

It's just the fact that, if a hovercar had been invented in the 40s (even one that wasn't finalised) I'd have thought the present day (the world in Hulk/Iron Man) would have been a bit more advanced than reality. Plus it makes Tony's achievements seem a little less brilliant. :(

I dunno, Howard Stark couldn't actually get his stuff to work. Its said in the iron Man films that he was limited by what he had available and a lot of his stuff (like the ARC Reactor) was impressive looking but not actually all that effective. The Tony comes along and makes a few tweaks, like miniaturising the reactor, and he actually gets things done
