It turns out, Stormageddon read my blog and very nearly made an account last night. However, his explanation for why not was:

I was about to make an account, but the registration intimdated me. It asked what LEGO franchise this was a fansite for in order to check I wasn't a spammer, and I thought 'What if I don't know enough about BIONICLE to join this? Would that make me a spammer? And if it did, how long would it be before I had to kill myself?'

Still, I'm making progress. Slowly. So, so slowly.
