Before you knew or when you were learning English what did English sound like to you? How hard was it to learn English? How is English different from your native language?

English sounded like any other foreign language: Sort of like gibberish.

It wasn't too hard. I'd been taking classes since I was 5 years old, and it only took around a year for me to be fully fluent in English once we moved to the US. Nowadays I'm generally at the top of my English class as far as comprehension and writing is concerned.

English is different from Spanish like it's different from most romanic tongues: dumb crazy rules, overall lack of gender-specific nouns and pronouns. And the pronunciation is trickier.
