Sisen Posted August 19, 2012 Man. I didn't think anyone could beat that month I missed in middle school. Guess I was wrong. Quote Link to comment

And I didn't miss the four years all at once, mind you. Quote Link to comment
Brickeens Posted August 19, 2012 The first two years have been made up for, but not the other two. The Irish schooling system has pretty much nothing in place to support students who have to drop out of school, so getting any courses or anything to do at home is very difficult. BioGio Posted August 19, 2012 Equivalency? Blanket term for any way of making up for lost schooling, typically by "testing out" of the courses you missed. In America, we have General Educational Development tests, which assess one's knowledge on a variety of school subjects. You don't have to take courses through any formal schools--just get a sufficient grade on the tests. The tests prove that you have the skills required/expected of a high school graduate. (At least, that's what I assume Sisen was talking about.) Quote Link to comment
Brickeens Posted August 19, 2012 Oh, okay. I'm pretty sure there isn't anything like that here. Quote Link to comment
Zatth Posted August 21, 2012 Oh, okay. I'm pretty sure there isn't anything like that here. Yeah, I learned about a 504 Plan here in the U.S., which has helped a lot (seeing as there is nothing like that in Venezuela or in Colombia). It sucks that you have to make all of that stuff up, but what matters is we're here for you to brighten up the way. Also to take away your sanity. But that's mostly Sumiki's doing.
