Since I'm being really unspecific here, I'll explain:

In the past, it has been said of me that when I am hurt by someone, I nearly immediately forgive them and go back to them like nothing happened. That was compared to a puppy in that if someone a puppy trusted kicked it, it would forgive them and return.

But today, I resisted the urge to return. I allowed someone to know that I was hurt, truly, despite how much I wanted to just forgive them and go back.
