A New Database Cleaning Command

Binkmeister

At work today, one of the other programmers found where Postgres' "analyze table" function will rebuild table indexes, speeding things up a lot. I'm using something similar for BZP's database, but not the exact same thing. So I added the mySQL "analyze table" function to my DB cleaner and ran it, and it seems to have sped things up a bit. I've just finished, so I'll give it a few days to really kick in. Hopefully this will help with the server latency issues.

Cool, and update. Thanks for continueously watching over the server, Binky, and fixin' it up all the time as well. And then posting blogs on it that are semi-understandable. :P

So far, I'm completely impressed with the server speed, and I haven't had any "BZPower Offline" emails since I ran the optimizer... so here's hoping that did the trick.

Of course, I've been down this road so many times I'm not holding my breath. But it is looking good so far. This weekend will tell.

Well, obviously by the number of "BZP offline" notices I've gotten this weekend, this is still an issue.

I'm so frustrated I need to walk away from it for a while.

The server hard drive is getting full, that might have an effect on the temp tables. I'll clean it up later today and see if that helps.
