You Know What's Missing?

In all this news of the new Titans, Mahri, and Barakki...one question is still going unanswered (at least the last time I checked it was). Are we getting a Titan combiner this year? It's going to be hard to top Kardas, which really was a huge achievement for set design, though I would've appreciated getting instructions for the individual sets as well. But LEGO should at least make sure not to skimp on the combiners.

It was the combiner models that got me into Bionicle in the first place, and seeing them slowly phased out over the years is sorta heart-wrenching. We got Irnakk last year, as well as Kardas, but what about the Toa sets? Aren't they worthy of getting a combiner model?

I'm starting to think it was those combiner models that was keeping me interested in the sets each year, and the driving force behind me going out and purchasing full sets of vilians and Titans. I didn't buy all of the Piraka, even after I picked up Irnakk, and now there's just something about the Barakki that's keeping me from just running to the store right now and grabbing a full set.

I'll still get the Toa...I always get the Toa. But until I see combiners start to make a comeback, I just don't think I'm that interested in picking up the Titans or full sets of villians.

I ahven't acually thought about that, maybe it will be something like the guy that starts with K and no it's not Karzahni.

Speaking of which, that Set does look different enough to warrant a purchase. The color scheme is pretty well put together (unlike Umbra...yeesh).

Unless you're referring to Kardas, however, I don't know who you're referring to.

Someone tear Omi apart to get yer MOC pieces.

But... oh yes! Even though I'm not into sets, that is true. Watchful eye.

But, I often guess that one dose of the MOC fun is to make your own combiner. *shrug*

We shall see what the Great Beings of LEGO decide.

I suppose you aren't counting that War Turtle combiner thingy in Lego Magazine or Brickmaster then...

That's part of the problem, part of the fun of the combiner sets was that the instructions were right in with the sets. That's not the case anymore. We have to wait for a month or even longer after their initial release for signs of a combiner. Seeing shots of the combiner was always one of the things I looked forward too when the new sets were released.

And there was also Toa Jovan...which was rather disappointing comparred to some of the older combiners. It looked like Nuparu with a few extra parts here and there (why did it need Hahli again?).

Yeah, I really wish Axonn and Brutaka had Botar instructions with them. I think half the reason is because Lego is trying to get more people to their web site. (it worked for me. I rarely go there and here they are making me download a PDF of the instrucions. Which is another problem. If I were a little kid and didn't have a computer in my room, how's that going to work for building it?)

Anyway, I have noticed how the Inika din't have combos. And I bet if Maxilos, Hydraxon, and the Gadunka have a combo, the instructions will only be online (unless it's a big set itself)

Well, I but sets for pieces, because I'm a MOCer. I'm lucky to get one titan a year (parents holding me back...)

But I did enjoy combos and miss them, too.
