Yeah, it's pretty lame. Though it's no wonder why it was popular when we first heard it. After all, it makes a big show of being super edgy... something it has in common so many BIONICLE fan characters' backstories. Seriously, I pretty much never see a bio for a MOC that emphasizes the character's cheerfulness, optimism, team spirit, sense of humor or can-do attitude — it's always about how jaded or corrupted or ruthless they are.

Even as somebody who loved BIONICLE from the beginning, I am somewhat disillusioned not only with the series' pretensions, but with the pretensions of many parts of the fanbase. BIONICLE has always had its darker moments and themes, but it was also always a fun and colorful adventure story, and there are a lot of people who seem to either forget or ignore that side of it.

That's what I liked about Bionicle - even in the middle of some of the darkest scenes of this series, there was humor and wisecracks in there. Pohatu and Lewa were the best. 

Even Vakama proves that you don't have to be ruthless, SMASH EVERYTHING type to be awesome. 

Although the line does fit the ruthless, 100-plan Teridax to a T, though. He's the villain. He says stuff like that.

In all fairness, it was a rather tryhard line. When I was younger it sounded cool and was great to keep spamming in every quote thread I could find, so long as nobody else had posted it first. But now, looking back, it just comes across as really awkward. And it actually does Teridax something of a disservice. It makes him sound so desperate to intimidate that he has to resort to threats rather than actions. It shows a weak side to his character that's just trying to show off, rather than be the all powerful beast that we're so used to. And when I say show off, I don't mean in the typical way of being grandiose and stylish.
