Those are both good points. In casual discussion, the most important thing is readability. With that in mind, proper syntax is a heck of a lot more important than proper grammar—it's more important to understand what was said than to critique how it was said.

And as an addendum, you know the kind of user who picks unusual font, type size, and color to post in just so their posts will stand out? Yeah. Don't be that guy. Nothing is more aggravating than having to read tiny, neon green, scriptlike text (and large, bold, bright red text isn't any better). If other members have to struggle to decode your posts then you're not communicating effectively.

at first i navigated away from this blog post after reading this post because i just thought ryuujin was agreeing and didn't say anything else in the reply

then i realized the topic of discussion in said post was typing posts in white and was like "hah that would be a pretty good opportunity for a reply to be ironic"

after i scrambled back to this blog post much face-palming ensued
