A friend of mine recently spent a week in Billund working on yet another top-secret project, and told me that during his stay they visited the not-yet-completed LEGO Museum near Legoland Billund. It's apparently got a lot of cool stuff, but the biggest surprise was that they have an entire fan section, including videos. Specifically, at least one video, written and voiced by yours truly. So my melodious voice is apparently heard in the museum.

This was a project I did more than a year ago, during a single weekend, to help pull somebody's chestnuts out of a fire. Apparently there was a big executive meeting scheduled in Germany, and the guy who ran the Ambassadors program promised a fan video for the event. The guy who was supposed to be putting it together didn't, so at the very last second (Friday afternoon) I got a panicked call asking if I could slap something together. The bar was really low, apparently.

Not realizing exactly what I was about to get myself into, I said, "Sure, no prob." And spent the next 48 hours slaving away, off and on. I wrote the script, recorded the sound, found a bunch of existing images that would be useful, and modeled and rendered a bunch of others, then put it all into a second-by-second script. Then I sent it all off and it got compiled into a movie (although it didn't quite follow the script exactly, but close).

Next thing I knew, it was a hit. At the time, there were a couple of things "secret" about it, but no longer, so it's available for public consumption. In fact, they showed it at BrickFest 2006 (although I wasn't there).
