Tritungsten Oxide

WHAT. THE. HECK!?

All I'm finding off Google is like scholarly journals that I can't understand. Can I just get a simple explanation of WHY W3O8 is a neutral compound? I mean Oxygen has an oxidation number of 2-, there are eight of them, that makes a total of 16-. HOW DO YOU BALANCE A NEGATIVE 16 CHARGE WITH 3 ATOMS? 3 does not go into 16! There's no number I can assign Tungsten that will work! I mean, a compound that makes SENSE next time, please? >_<

It apparently exists as some weird thing under study in labs, that has some strange thing going with it that allows it to work. Well wonderful! WE HAVEN'T LEARNED A BIT CONCERNING THAT YET. How do I balance a redox reaction when I don't know the oxidation number of one of the products?

...

Okay I realize only people who have taken chemistry at all which realize what I'm saying, but still. Frustrating. Darned Tungsten... why do you have to be so weird? I mean, W. What's up with that? Can't have a normal symbol, nooo Tungsten has to be W.

... also MY AC ENTRY IS SO FAR FROM BEING DONEEEEE...

That's why I hate Google, It's like an unaphabetized encyclopedia, it has all the info, but it's impossible to find.
