A Day With No Food

Or at least it seems like it.

In the process of preparation for a procedure tomorrow morning, I've had to go the last 24 and the next 6 hours on a clear liquid diet. I get to eat Jello, broth, and sports drinks, all that aren't red or orange.

Trust me, that's not much to choose from.

You never realize how much you appreciate something until it's taken away from you.

At least I can still guzzle some broth: after 12 AM, I'm not supposed to have anything at all. And no, it's not like Gremlins.

KIE you are much braver than I. :P I admit I have gone a few days without food on various occasions, but I usually die, I'm a food-o-holic.

Well, since they're going to be putting you under (from the sounds of it) at least you'll be sleeping through most of it.

That's the best advice I could give. Go to bed sooner so that you sleep through the hunger. You'll wake up probably growling, but you'll have cut the wait in half.

Then when you can eat again, you celebrate with something like a pizza or some Chipotle.

Sadly, I still have prep medicine to take. Even at this hour.

-KIE, who calls dibs on Long John Silvers.

I had that procedure done less than a month ago, the no food rule was killing me... All I had to eat that day was orange popsicles (they told me no red or purple) and Gatorade Rain. And that prep medicine, is that the sodium-based liquid laxatives? If so, dude, you're gonna be in the bathroom all freakin' night.

Oh, wait... *looks at date of quote* Well, snap, nevermind. How'd it go? What'd you eat after? Me, I downed a 14-inch pizza by myself in 15 minutes. With obscene amounts of root beer.

Oh dear, I do remember my ops and not having food before that. No broth, no liquid-stuff, just no food for the 6 to 10 hours before the op. Even during a school day (No recess, the horror!).

Hope you're feeling better!
