Becuase it looks like that in the picture to them? Sure looks like Metru to me.

I have no idea. Every single red piece he has exists in Metru red, whereas the vast majority of them don't exist in Mata red, so him being Mata red is extraordinarily unlikely.

Would be nice if he was Mata red... but then again, might not be so good so soon after Maxilos... not sure how the previous year's sets affect the sales of new sets... Anyway, it's nice to have somethingdistinguishing him from MoMN (who, funnily enough, has contained Mata Red in his every set incarnation).

It looks very much like dark red to me.

Then again, it might be purple in disguise

I would be delighted if it was a mix of Avak Brown and red, but I doubt Lego will make a new red. That's what I thought it was at first (Avak Brown + Red).

Because it looks like it. And I'm guessing a lot of people want to see the comeback of that color. It would be nice, for a change.

It'd be nice to get those pieces in mata red, but I doubt it because all those pieces are already in dark red.

Because of that I think it's dark red even though the picture seems lighter.

Mata red would be cool, but sadly it is not. In fact, I dont think there is any new metru red parts in the set, sadly.
