Happy New Year

Kallista ~ Little light

Well I was all set to spend New Years Eve at home watching a movie when my parents got a phone call/invitation to a New Years Eve party. So I came along as the designated driver (old enough to drive, to young to drink).

So it ended up being a Mexican New years party.

(My mom's cousin’s wife's family)

So you can guess things went a little different then I planned.

Walking into the room I could tell I was in trouble... amongst the older people I know fairly well there are 4-5 Mexican boys (who look in there later teens or young adulthood) and only 1 other girl who they aren’t related to.

I kept a safe distance by my mom and some of the older guests until the countdown arrived. We counted down and cheered said Happy New Year, toasted, and then they cleared the living room to put on some dancing music...

From there I had no escape... and I'm a dancer; it's part of my life so I thought 'oh whatever'.

After some little free bouncing dances one of the guys asks me If I know how to salsa or cha-cha... I say no because I didn't... But I catch on pretty fast. So he taught me. The song ended, he had to go change the music so I went back to talking with the cool old people.

He comes after me saying I'm supposed to still be dancing with him and drags me back into the living room.

I was quite baffled so I just went with it. but prier to the dancing I drank a fare amount of pop and non-alcoholic Cider (yummy) so my stomach got really upset to I had to sneak off...

I actually felt like I was going to throw up. So I went outside to get some air.

The evening soon calmed down and people started going home;

Then the guy I had danced with asks for my number. Which I found kinda strange...

I'm still hearing some of the events I missed when I was outside from my mom so I might have more to say here latter.

Happy New Year!!!

A Mexican party? So instead of a crystal light-up ball they used a piñata? :P

I know the feeling of a party that you do not belong in and being forced into company you do not feel completely comfortable in. No fun. Of course, I do not dance, so... :P

Lol. Sounds kinda... distant...

Sounds like a semi-odd New Years eve, but a good one none-the-less...wait, Mexican? :???:

Well, I went to close friend's house with my parents for NYE, and three of my good friends were there (one of whom is a BZP member). So, we made a movie in the backyard, played Transformers for Wii (Whooo), and went crazy with Phantoka and TFs.

Happy 2008!

Rocked out to a bunch of old songs 'till 11:30, then lit some fireworks...

Which were hopelessly dwarfed by the AMAZING fireworks display set up by the neighbors, which went on for at least 2 hours

Yes, I did copy and paste this from CF's Blog :P

Haha, that sounds like me. Hanging out with all the older people instead of the folks my age. :P

Happy new year! I love the Puppie content block!

I hate grown up parties. They're all "Ooh, look how you've grown" or "So how are you doing at school"

So repetitive, so boring.

If I had gone to that party, I'd probably have just sat by the buffet all the time. Salsa, Guacamole, Chilli, I love Mexican Food.

As for the boy, what was the problem? Did you think he was being a bit too forward?

Well for me it was like "Are you going to finish school?" "you have a job?" "You Can Drive!?!" "Do you have a boyfriend?" "Your not 18 already" "wow art school! you can do that?" type of conversation.

Nah he was just under the influance of some beverages I could not/would not drink and I wasn't used to any attention at all.

Ooh, a grownup party. I hate those. Sure, I am raised to be familiar to formalities and can do very well in those cases, but at the same time there is never anything to do. Plus, I am used to being at an equal intellectual level when in engaged conversation, something that is just not meant for adult activities. Then when I try to be myself, I am told that this is not the place for that. Hmph.

But yeah. I know the pain. Of course, my alternative sense of humour pays off to some who like satire, but it wears off soon enough for me to want to go home-- and fast, too.

All in all, I dislike formal and/or adult things. Bleh.

Meh, you might have ended up liking him if you'd tried to get to know him better. Still, if he was drunk...

Well drinking seemed to be one of his hobbies (which I extreemly dissagree with) so it wouldn't have worked out anyways

Isn't that suposed to be my job here?

I wish they still did what they did in Ye Oldene Dayes to drunkards. Send them home wearing nothing but a barrel...

That would surely put an end to binge drinking...

True, it sounds more like you (the Necromancer part especially, o Spirit Keeper), but I am one of The Powers that Be, so I'm not lacking in the power department :P

And the evergrowing need for entertainment :P

P.S. Since you are one of the Powers That Be. Was/Is/Will there be a Power That Was, and a Power That Will Be?

Having or not having power is never the problem...

It's having the athority and respect from others that's hard to get
