Bionicle Music...

Okay, anyone besides me who dislikes the music they've used for Bionicle since 2006, and favors the MNOG-style music?

Also, IMHO, Bionicle music shouldn't have lyrics. Maybe like the Makuta fight chorus, but nothing more.

I like 'em both. It kind of depends on the feel of the story. They wanted to create one kind of atmosphere in MNOG, and they want a different one for the ongoing storyline.

I still think they could've an atmosphere just as good, or likely, better, if they'd used MNOG-style music.

And don't even get me started on the Piraka rap, Creeping in my Soul, AAR, and Gravity Hurts(the lyrical version, I think it'd be good if only instrumental).

I prefer the MNOLG, ambiance style. Lyrics are full of lose.

There IS no signoff!

Edit: I like Relient K, but I think all music in pop/rock/emo etc. doesn't belong in Bionicle. Besides, emo is also lose.

Edit'd edit: All emo besides Death Cab for Cutie, that is.

I like both. Though, in all fairness, LEGO probably spent more money on rights to the use of songs by popular artists, and this year we have none. So I suppose a return to lyricless music is in LEGO's best interest in retrospect.

Anyway, I certainly like the MNOLG music, but it felt a bit more mechanical than I like (when I say it that way it seems so anti-BIONICLE :P). I'd like something with a similar feel, but more melodic and ethereal. Howzabout... Mike Oldfield's album "The Songs of Distant Earth" as an example (buy it online, or at least a few tracks; you won't regret it).

Oh yes.

With all due respect,

I would call their old stuff emo... their newest album is full of WIN and awesome, not emo bacteria infested waste.

Good point about getting rights.

I dunno. Bionicle to me, has always been primarily mechanical characters in a very organic/natural environment. So, personally, I think the MNOG music fits well.

Ehh, it's all taste.

See, I really liked the MNOLG music, Hero, Caught in a Dream, Move Along, Creeping in my Soul, and Crashed. I was neutral about Face Me, but I don't like the Piraka Rap or Gravity Hurts. When I first heard the music in the Phantoka vids, I couldn't wait for the song to be released for download, but now that I've heard it, I'm kinda disappointed.

I'm with Ca'. I really hate all the music now. The old MNOLG stuff is the only music they've ever had that's really "Bionicle".

BTW, do you know where I can download the MNOLG soundtrack?
