Welcome to Bunda's Blog Based Creations Contest #1, Needs Less Custom! (AKA, To Spite Ca'gerrin, AKA Operation Toamod)

EDIT: The deadline has been extended to the 26th!

That's right! It's been in the works for a while now, and I'm finally posting it!

So, here's the deal. Too many posts in BBC these days say "lol needs moar custom!!! 2.6576754575764445664745745676776567567657567/10!"
Or something to that effect.

Your job is to disrupt the Evil Clan of Simplicity Hating Noobs, which is led by Ca'gerrin, even though he isn't a noob. He just hates simplicity.

I ramble.

Now, down to business!
You must make a Toamod. Yes, that's right. (I'll have Cera's helper Mokai clean that puke up for ya. ;) )
Heres the deal: You must make a Toamod. I don't care if it's a Toamod of a Nuva, or a Metru, or an Inika. Whatever.

You may choose whatever mask, color scheme, series, and tool you want for your Toa to use.
You may make small adjustments the parts, but they must be based on something from a Toa. The arms and legs on CF's Nuparu Revamp are good examples of the small changes you may perform.
Your tools may be slightly custom.
*thinks of example*
As in my Ruhann PBZP. The legs are also a good example. NOT the arms.

Sounds easy, right? WRONG!
This is a contest that is easily accsesable to the public, so expect more competition. (I hope) You can't rely on you uber custom or massive MOC. (Yes, I'm talking to you, Ca and Czar.) You must rely on you color scheme, choice of weapons and Kanohi, and sense of simplistic beauty. That's right.

If you're MOC is too custom, I'll send you a polite PM requesting you alter it.

Rules:
1) No custom or painted parts. Duh.
2) No entry may be published prior to the beginning of this contest.
3) You must link to a gallery with detail pix, so I may see that it doesn't need less custom.
4) No rubber bands! I can't think of a good reason for this, but all the same. NONE!
5) One entry per person. Up to six Toa per entry. Classic elements are non-essential.
6) Entry must be 95% Technic.
7) The background may be edited, but not the MOC. Color correction and brightness adjustments are legal.

Enter in this format:

Member Name:(mandatory)
Toa Name(s): (mandatory)
Gallery: (mandatory)
Topic: (optional)

Contest ends March 20th, with voting beginning soon after.

If I missed one, all the other basic BBCC rules apply.

Prizes: (the lamest EVAR)
A custom content block here with whatever.
A banner with your MOC saying you won.
A custom banner & avatar of your choice made by me.

So... go ahead and enter. Inform me if this seems to be lacking in any way.

Happy Building!

(No offense Ca and Czar, it's just jokes. You get jokes, right?)

(Hooray for the most unofficial contest post EVAR!)

There IS no signoff!

Looks fun. And I don't have to take apart my giant candle, (For Ca's Challenge,) to make my Toamod.

I remember bringing up this point a loooong time ago, I'm glad someone has decided to do something. :)

But anyways, this is crazy weird. Just last night I thought, "Dang, BZP needs more un-customified MOCs," so I was gonna make one...or .three Crazy, huh?

Anyways, I think I'll have to start MOCing again for the contest. Yay!

...

Oh, can I make more than one MOC. (Note: I didn't read through the rules carefully, I might've missed something.)

Go Ruhann!!

So, we're basically making a set-like Toa MOC, but we have to use Toa torsos, or can we use Piraka torsos?

^Sorry about the long Q.

This looks like it will be fun, and entry period falls just after my March Break, which means plenty of time to MOC! Yes!

I'll try to enter this one. So do we have to keep the original torsos, or can we make them different like the Nuparu revamp from CF??? And it can be a Hordika correct?

So the idea is to build a MOC using a pre-built Toa torso, arms, legs, feet, head, etc? No building anything intricate at all? Only weapons can have some specialness to them?

I don't think I agree. Younger people do that because they can't build customness. Then we grow older and realize we actually want to build with our Lego. Hence we want custom bodies, and that's moving on to demands for custom legs and arms. Which is acceptable. If we get good enough, we start throwing Lego brick in there like ToM and Darth Vader.

Anyway, I don't quite mind doing that for you, it'll be fun and a relief on my brain, except for figuring out a color concept, which I'm good at.

Does it have to be an old set, or can it be a true MOC and new character?

Curses! I just posted my Daar MoC which totally fit within the rules!

*gets over it*

Well, I've got a couple others sitting around my room, maybe I'll enter one of them.

I have an jaller mahri revamp here on my computer... the legs and arms are practically (emphasis on practically) spitting images of the original. The torso has the same armor deisgn, with a bit of custom work on the inside. Is that alright?

You missed a 't' in the banner. :P

:o

I did. Must fix.

Why!!!!!!!!!!!

So it's kinda like what ToM has been doing with his Toa and stuff?

Prizes?

Not at all. ToM's stuff is much, much more complex than what I want. He's doing revamps, I want Toamods. NOW!

*edits in worthless prizes*

Really, this contest is too easy to put in physical prizes, IMO.

I remember bringing up this point a loooong time ago, I'm glad someone has decided to do something. :)

SZ... enters my contest? Amazing...

You may make up to six Toa.

Go Ruhann!!

So, we're basically making a set-like Toa MOC, but we have to use Toa torsos, or can we use Piraka torsos?

^Sorry about the long Q.

Ruhann

Piraka torsos are okay. They are used in the Mahri and Mistika.

I'll try to enter this one. So do we have to keep the original torsos, or can we make them different like the Nuparu revamp from CF??? And it can be a Hordika correct?

~TT

A Hordika Toamod would be okay, but no. CF's torso is much too complex. I want you to use an already existing torso. Of course it can be modified somewhat, but not too much.

So the idea is to build a MOC using a pre-built Toa torso, arms, legs, feet, head, etc? No building anything intricate at all? Only weapons can have some specialness to them?

-CF

New characters are encouraged.

Don't make the tools too complex.

Ooh, fun, making a MOC that doesn't break my brain in the process. ^_^

Yay!

Ooh, maybe I should simplify my "Tahu" Mistake-a revamp.

BTW, will you be entering Bunda?

Haha... it's not like it's hard to make another Toamod...

Erm... post a pic of the body and I'll see. Probably not.

Just post the pic already!

*is surprised at how many people are responding*

Who knew I had so many readers?

Would Vezon's torso be okay? It's really just a modified piraka torso, and you did say that modifying is alright...

Link to comment

I've finished mine for the most part, but I'm not sure if it is eligible because of modern modifications as it was originally from 2005. I'll PM you a pic so I can check.

Edit: Oh yeah, about that torso on Nuparu... I just glanced at it and didn't notice the custom body- though it was an Inika... Oops!

Link.

Thoughts?

I don't know... Is there any body piece in there or is it completely custom?

The torso consists of a metru hip, covered by the orange piece and the chest armor in the front, with a kalmah foot on the back, the inside of the torso consists of two of these, two of these, and a couple of these for effect. Everything is made to fit in the armor pieces, so it's a very jaller mahri original based/inspired design.
