Queen of Noise

George Harrison is my favourite Beatle ever, and this is his best song ever. According to Frank Sinatra, it's the greatest love song ever written. I cannot say I disagree. It's a masterpiece of aural beauty in its slow, simple sentiment. In an oxymoronic twist of gargantuan proportions, its nonspecific lyrics underscore its clarity: the inarticulate 'something' used to explain the singer's love illustrates the unexplainable nature of the emotion. What seems like a lazy lyric at first glance is in truth the most beautiful and real expression possible.

Oh, and I can play this on the guitar. Shyea.

"Something" by the Beatles

Composed by George Harrison

Something in the way she moves

Attracts me like no other lover

Something in the way she woos me

I don't want to leave her now

You know I believe, and how

Somewhere in her smile she knows

That I don't need no other lover

Something in her style that shows me

I don't want to leave her now

You know I believe, and how

You're asking me will my love grow?

I don't know, I don't know

You stick around now it may show

I don't know, I don't know

*Gorgeous guitar solo*

Something in the way she knows

And all I have to do is think of her

Something in the things she shows me

I don't want to leave her now

You know I believe, and how

Hah. I just have the Red and Blue Albums and that is all you need. Any song by The Beatles a normal person brings up is on one of those two. ^_^

Also Something is good, but some of their other sings I find a bit better. =/

UNTRUTH.

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road are essential. And the white album. And Help. And Rubber Soul. And Revolver. And...

Actually their whole discography is essential.

I need more Beatles in my playlist. Their songs are ultimate win. D:

I can give you...a lot. :P

But all those songs are on the albums except Abbey Road, Rubber Soul, and Revolver. D:

Sgt. Peppers and Revolver are the only two that don't have at least two tracks of filler (considering the length of most Beatles albums 2 tracks of filler is a lot).

Not saying their filler isn't good too, just Sgt. Peppers and Revolver are the only ones that are consistently amazing.

Those are albums I mentioned, not songs. :o

I'm going to have to disagree on the Abbey Road assessment--the medley of side two seem to me what the white album (in which the mess is part of the draw) would be were polished into something more perfect. It may be a bunch of fragments tied together, but done so in a Pink Floyd-eqsue manner where they have a wonderful and unified flow (and that conclusion--!!). As for side one, it has five of the group's best songs. I suppose 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer' could be deserving of 'filler' stigma, but it's an amusingly fun song and I enjoy it.

As for the rest, filler by the Beatles is still rather good, and the excellence of the non-filler songs makes the listen well worth it, I'd say. ^_^
