A tragedy struck my bedroom today. I had three Toa Mata laid out, in pieces on my desk. I was in the process of filming a stop-motion movie where they would combine into a kaita. All of a sudden, my desk lamp decided to jump off the shelf above and land right in the pile of pieces, scattering them across the floor. I desperately scrambled to grab all of them in time, but I wasn't fast enough. One piece managed to get away, and now I have no clue where it is. The piece was one of tiny two-length O/+ connectos from Lewa Mata's left hand.

After I gave up searching my room for it, I figured I could just grab a replacement from this tub thing I had in the closet. But of course the tub only has pieces from 03 and 04, the years that they started making that piece only in tan and blue. Time for plan C. I remembered having an extra one of those pieces in Kopaka Mata's canister, which was of course, at the very bottom of my closet. After a while of digging, I opened the canister to find that it was completely empty. Now I was getting annoyed, and I started to just open up whatever canisters/boxes I could find, hoping to find the piece in the extra parts that usually come with some sets. But again, to no avail. Only black, blue, and tan ones, not a single extra grey.

After spending half my morning looking for this piece, my mom suggested calling Lego for a replacement part, but I'm not sure if they'll have it in the right color, since it hasn't been made in several years.

Now, I know I'm probably over-reacting over just a single tiny piece, but Lewa is one of my oldest sets, and also my favorite. I like to keep my old sets on display, and it bugs me if something is missing on them. Also I feel somewhat guilty for being so careless with the pieces in the first place.

For now I have given up searching for the piece in my room, since if it isn't so far under something that it will never be seen again, one of my cats has probably taken it instead.
