Countdown
T-minus 7 days and 6 hours, give or take, until Brickfest....
No, I am not going to catalogue each and every moment until my first visit to Washington, D.C., in almost 20 years. That's not what I meant by countdown.
I bought a scale yesterday. One of those electronic ones that can also measure body fat. See, I've mentioned that I put on a fair amount of weight in the ten months following Katrina, with no outlet for physical activity because I lived so far away from civilization. (Yes, I could have gone walking along Highway 1, were it not that it was already dark by the time I'd get home. 9:30 PM dark.)
Anyway, before the storm, I'd weigh in at 180..okay, 185. At one point for a doctor's visit before moving back, I tipped the scales at 210.
This morning, after several weeks of jogging/walking 2 miles most days, I tipped the scales at...
200.8 lb. (91 kg)
25.9% body fat.
At least 30 pounds of fat on my person. I feel emo, all of a sudden.
I have very little muscle mass above my waistline. If anyone wants to volunteer effective methods for converting 10% of that body fat (well, more like 40% of the fat, but 10% of the total content) into upper torso muscle, I would be appreciative. Honest.
