It was blisteringly hot down here too. I spent most of the day in the garden. Of course, I don't tan easily, so now my arms and face are bright red...

Yeah, I reside in the loft conversion. But I only have one, medium/small window. No carpet though, it gathers too much dust in a room like mine (ie, one that rarely gets tidied)

I didn't think it was an insult, I was under the impression his claim that Americans tan easily was a good thing. Hence the smiley.
