Living so close to Washington D.C., I just have to comment on this.

People here drive like crazy people,

Everybody drives crazy in Northern Virginia. Even people who try to drive safely. (And, yes I'm counting Washington D.C. as part of Northern Virginia.)

and the crosswalks like didn't work, so he and I pretty much ran across a big huge street when the lights went red.

There's crosswalk lights in Washington D.C.? Last time I checked you just have to run across the street. Hope not to get hit by a car.

It doesn't matter, as they'll only be keeping the title warm until I find a way to show up next year.

So after I dragged him out of the airport, went back to the hotel, dropped his stuff off, and then went out, to find a place to eat. We walked to the Tyson Galleria, which was like suicide pretty much. People here drive like crazy people, and the crosswalks like didn't work, so he and I pretty much ran across a big huge street when the lights went red.
