Jetrax T6 Review
Well, I went to Bismarck today and picked up Tahu Nuva (Mistika) and the Jetrax T6. Tahu is an awesome set, and the Nynrah Ghost Blasters are great too. However, he doesn't warrant a review like Jetrax does.
Box:
The box for the Jetrax T6 is amazing. The graphics and CGI are very nicely done, and what better pose is there for the Jetrax than flying through the sky and shooting Midak?
The back of the box shows some nice graphics of the many features of the Jetrax, as well as pictures of the other vehicles for 2008. Both sides are very eye-catching and provide lots to see.
Pieces:
The Jetrax features all sorts of pieces, a good majority of them being either completely new, or new from 2008.
Still in packaging and in box.
There are enough pieces where there are actually three different instruction manuals (when one ends, it resumes on the next, and that one resumes on the last). You can see them all in the picture entitled "Laying on ground.".
Assembly:
The assembly was quite complicated, and I had to often double check the instructions to make sure I was doing everything correctly. All in all, I think it took me at least an hour to build (taking my time), and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Antroz:
The new Antroz is somewhat lackluster; The mask (although cool) is a downgrade from his former one, and the set's build is very, very basic. There's no Tridax Pod, no wings, and no hand-held weapons. Still, the Jetrax needs someone to fly it, and I guess Antroz is it; even though he's supposedly blind...
Jetrax T6:
Wow, that's all I can say; wow. The completed vehicle is huge, incredible, and awesomely designed. The vehicle has 3 Midak on it... 3 Midak... Which is EPIC. The wings fold in when you push this piece up, and then fold out again when you push said piece back down again. Doing so is quite easy, and it adds to playability in massive leaps and bounds. The piece that controls the wings is on the handle that you can hold for "flying" the Jetrax. Quite a useful design, IMO, as the handle is easy to grab, and it easily supports the weight of the vehicle. The cockpit also opens and closes.
Final Thoughts:
Buy it. Seriously, this needs to be one of the first 2008 summer sets that you get. There are so many new pieces, so many great MOCing aspects to it, so much playability, and plenty of moving parts. It has 3 Midak Skyblasters, 2 turbines, and many, many actual "Technic" parts. Now, since this review is done, please excuse me while I go and play with it...
