Queen of Noise Posted August 14, 2008 Raga speaks truth. ATMs and ISBNs exist, however. Quote Link to comment
xccj Posted August 14, 2008 Har har. So you probably don't believe that my MOCs exist either. Quote Link to comment

Bfahome Posted August 14, 2008 ATM machine = stuff in factory that makes ATMs. Duh. Quote Link to comment
Dorek Posted August 14, 2008 Human nature refuses to let acronyms exist by themselves. They must be supplemented by a sensible sounding word. Just because it sounds sensible doesn't mean it isn't stupid =D Quote Link to comment
Toaraga Posted August 14, 2008 ATM machine = stuff in factory that makes ATMs. Duh.They're not made by hand? Oh sure, but no one's ever looking for those; although... hmm, I think I'll use that when someone asks. I could only think of those two at the time because I work at a college* bookstore and hear "ISBN numbers" too many times while I'm there. I don't hear the other as often, but I do hear it. They are pet peeves of mine. *Contrary to popular belief, college may only make you seem more intelligent. cags//cunninghat/2x2b Posted August 14, 2008 Is it illegal to beat people who say "an MOC"? I mean seriously, I made an my own creation? And more people are starting to do this too... iz maken mi kookoo! If you're saying "an emohcee" it works. Some people think "mock" sounds silly. I don't think MOC is considered an acronym anymore. Toaraga Posted August 15, 2008 MOC could be pronounced either way actually (so much fun); of course, there are other acronyms that we don't normally say the letters separately when they can make otherwise faux words: NASA or NATO, for example. I say "mock" but spell it without the k because if it has a k, it's probably an official set. Actually, I think more along the lines of mock-up... but this is neither here nor there. ©1984-2008 Toaraga EAM Quote Link to comment
