While I really appreciate all the encouragement, I really haven't posted a single chapter, or even an excerpt, of 52-Pickup yet, and I don't want to get everyone's hopes up and all just based on my goal of what I intend to do.

I'm going for something pretty ambitious and I think I have some good ideas but I really don't want to disappoint anyone. Reading over it so far, while I'm satisfied with what I have and it provides a good setup for what I have planned, it's not exactly the funniest or most interesting stuff I've ever written, nor have I had the chance yet to dive off the deep end of cynicism (though I tried to get in some subtle, darker bits of dialog). And though I'll try my best, I may eventually come to a knot in the story that keeps me stuck until I abandon the project; it's happened a lot in the past.

Just, making sure everyone knows. High expectations, lots of pressure, you know. ^^;;

So anyway now that that's done, this entry is actually filed under "life," so life it is.

Well we had a Thanksgiving-weekend-party (may as well make the most of the long weekend) today. LZ came over, and a bunch of other people. There was cheesecake.

We watched V for Vendetta, which was pretty awesome. I played some of LZ's collection of freeware games, he played one out of mine. I showed everyone broadcast episode 1 (chronological 11) of Suzumiya Haruhi (since it's the funniest and requires no context for the vast majority of the episode) and everyone enjoyed it.

Me and LZ and LZ's brother (mostly LZ) built an army of random critters from spare parts left over from my destruction of Cafe Corner and rebuilding of it into something different. LZ made a lion-headed bunny and a squashed eagle, among other things. I built an I-don't-know-what, with long forelimbs and short hind limbs. Actually, most of what was turned out could be considered an "I-don't-know-what."

So anyway, fun times.
